I make and clip another layer to the lineart for my eyes. Then, I color the eyelashes a slightly darker color than the darkest color in the eye. After that, I make and clip one more layer to that and set it to screen and lightly go over the ends and little eyelashes i draw in a lighter, but not usually white, color and change the opacity, hue, etc. Hope that helps! hello there ^.^ I think the eyes are really cute and I really want to colour them like that but I'm stuck at 1 step >.< 👍: 0 ⏩: 2
It's the one where you were saying
set the layer to screen (AGAIN with that cute face)
and colour the half circle with complimentary colours. May I know how you got the bottom half of the circle to look so transparent? everytime i colour, i just get this purple blob of hard colour.

Hi hi! Sorry for taking so long to respond, I don't visit dA that often anymore because I'm pretty busy lol and I know what you mean!
I make a bit of a circle and then the blur it on the bottom so it has a little edge on the top (like in the picture)
I hope this helps; I'm going to actually do a step by step real quick and send it to you to make what I said understandable lol;;

Yeah sometimes I wish I could be really good naturally
But drawing is very fun so it's not a bad thing to have to draw a lot
I really like looking back at drawings from when I was younger
makes you see how much you've progressed

I've tried this a MILLION times, and I can't figure it out. When I use the clipping it doesn't do the same that it does here...

Do you clip ALL the shading layers to the original base color layer? o: otherwise it won't work

I think I may have figured it out. There was just some technique things I had to work through. Still can't figure out how you get the bottom images though

Great! If you have any problems, you could maybe take a screenshot & show me & I'll try to fix it~ *w* and those bottom layers were above the lineart, each separate ^^ the last one, though, is clipped to the eye lineart, and just airbrushed with a different color~
