You have to take into consideration that she's not a warrior, she's a wizard. Her protections are magical in nature and clothing in the wrong places would interfere with her ability to channel magical power from the environment.

Maybe, but if it were me, being able to use magic shouldn't limit me to wear beter armor. Atleast some metal-plated leather armor or something.
