I guess they have to go through another human rating process just for the cst 100, they might face a few engineering problems with that though.

Most of the issues with the CST-100/Atlas V are because the original adapter, (the one shown here) causes the airflow to come back down along the vehicle at a sharp point halfway down the Centaur.  Because it is a balloon tank, Centaur doesn't have a lot of lateral strength (which is part of why it needs a support deck with the 5m fairing) and this would create a risky situation there.  The solution of putting the big aeroskirt beneath the capsule, causes the supersonic air flow to converge in a more diffuse way farther down the vehicle where it is stronger.
