Description Metroid --> Alpha --> Gamma --> Zeta --> Omega --> Queen.

The metroid evolution chart is actually even more complex than what I put into this wallpaper. The chart itself actually branches off and out into phazon mutations and that one particular metroid...

Anyway enjoy this new wall. Plenty more coming your way.

Ah!, i love it!

I wish they would use again the evolutive line of the Metroid in new games of this franchise, i can dream, nice work, i don't usually like minimalist walpappers, but this is really nice.

Pretty cool, nice work! I think this really works because of all the contrast between each of the different metroids, but that said, I think the blue and the green are a bit too similar and don't work as well visually for that reason. If the standard metroid was more of a lime green I think it'd stand out more and read better, but aside from that nitpick, nice work~

Or maybe if I switched the colors of the Alpha and Gamma metroid?

Maybe, but it's less about the hue than the shade. The green and blue have similar darkness, but if the green was simply lighter I think it'd read just fine.... You wouldn't have to change as much, and I kind of like the progression of colors as it is anyway. But, that's just my opinion, ultimately it's up to you of course. x3

Yeah true. I'll try it out later. Plenty of more wallpapers to make first

Nicely done

I'm not quite sure if the Omega actually does become a queen, or how...But one day I'll figure it out.

Its a special mutation. Only some Omega metroids are capable of evolving to queen. Think of it like a queen honeybee. Not all females will become queen, only the ones with the right dna and ability will become queen.

Same thing (probably) applies to Metroids.

Ah, I see. I think it might apply to Metroids. I think I understand now.

I figured that it would take a little time to register that each outline is of the next stage of the metroid life cycle. There is only one game where you see the Alpha, Gamma and Zeta metroids (in Metroid II: The Return of Samus). The omega metroid is a little more well known as he was the last boss in metroid fusion.

And of course the Queen Metroid was featured in the Other M and Metroid II: The Return of Samus

Correct, and although you could not face them in fusion, if i recall correctly there were images of the mid forms of the metroids in chambers you could see on your way to the actual chamber where the metroids were held

Yep, so I guess technically Alpha, Gamma, and Zeta were in Metroid Fusion, but they were not fightable enemies.

That's pretty cool. I'd like to see... how do I put this? Shadowed transparent layers to give the same effect, with each one a little more solid so you can see it just a little bit better than the last, y'know?
O'course I've never tried something like that so I don't know how well it would work.

Not entirely sure what you mean, but the evolution is more akin to this

Obviously a metroid's evolution is a lot more complicated than a pokemon's evolutionary cycle but I like the way it came out.
