Description
Well, I FINALLY learned how to color digitally! Hopefully, I'll have opportunity to put some of my past and future works into color from here on out.My first entry into the wide world of color is my tribute to this infamous scene from Turtles Forever. It wasn't necessarily faithful to the spirit of the original TMNT cartoon, but it sure was funny! I love the idea of mutant pizzas and bananas, since those are two of my favorite foods!
It seems like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles always have to make time to rescue April O'Neil.
The background is just a screencap from the classic cartoon, and the Leonardo picture is cropped from the film.

I'm very grateful to have very easy-to-follow GIMP tutorials such as this one:

EDIT: I decided to change some of the colors to better match the palette from the Turtles Forever movie. 8-29-11
The original can still be viewed in Scraps for comparison's sake:

TMNT Forever didn't portage theΒ 80s turtles right at all. I also didn't like how they made it seem like the Turtles only ever do anything to save April... she's not Princess Peach, the running gag was that April never knew what was going on, not that they had to save her all of the time.

Considering all those Anchovy and banana pizzas the turtles ate, I suppose karma dictated it would finally catch up with them and their friends!

As someone said, Turtles Forever is a parody of the 1987 show.

Heh, thanks for the compliment on my art. You weren't far off thinking it was a screenshot, however, since I superimposed both the background and the Leonardo head from the cartoon show/TF movie.
I know a lot of Old Toon fans were upset with the portrayal of the Turtles in the film, but I still like it a lot, even if it isn't entirely fair at times. This was probably my favorite scene in the whole movie.

"Mutant" pizza and bananas for the win, indeed! To quote a certain movie, "This dimension is seriously messed up!"

It would have been nice to see some real villains from the Fred Wolf series fighting the turtles, but I absolutely loved those wacky mutant food designs. Now I totally want a "Mutant Banana" action figure!

Ha! I loved that scene!
I say we head to our Lair, pick up our Anti-Technodrome gear, and go put it to good use! But first...we have to save April!

Thanks, Powder!
I don't think the overall color tone matches perfectly with the background I chose. Perhaps some more experience with brightness/contrast/tint would be helpful for my future works.
