Patti was one lucky woman.
She deserved George though, she's so beautiful.
And her eyes in this picture... (I'm not gay, I mean that in a 'Pretty' way of course. )

Because it was a hundred years ago when George Harrison was young, not to mention alive, and I can remember when!

I envy you. Sometimes I think I was born too late. I wish I could live in 60's, it was such a wonderful time!

Oh my, really? But then you'd have to be old now!
I often feel I was born out of my time, but I would have liked to lived in the 1800s. As long as I was healthy and rich.
I was pretty young in the 60s but I was there, and remember when the Beatles first showed up in America.
There really was a sweep of color, passion and energy about them that faded and hasn't been duplicated or replaced yet, I agree.

Well, if I could really choose, I would most liked to have lived in the beginning of the 20th century, because in my opinion it was the most fascinating time in the history; but here in Poland life was never easy - and it doesn't matter if you were poor or rich, you could die killed by Russian, then by Bolsheviks, or by Germans - during the wars or uprisings. Anyway there was no time for boredom!

oh-h, WWI must have been a hard period to live through.
It must have been awful to never feel secure in your own home, to have your life and livelihood always in danger.
My grandmother was born in 1890. She went from long dresses and horse drawn transportation to jets and mini-skirts and men on the moon.

So your Grandma had a fascinating life, I suppose.
But life in America was probably much easier. I remember my mom told me that in the village, where she lived with parents and siblings there was no electrical installation till the middle of 60's.
My maternal Grandma was born during the WWI in Germany, where her parents were sent for a forced labour. So I can say she lived through two world wars.
During WWII she and her husband - my Grandpa worked in the Polish property, which was requisitioned by Nazis. My Grandpa often recalled that hard time. He was also one of witnesses of terrible crime, when Germans murdered about 3 thousands of Jews in the woods near my town.
Well, my Grandpa is no longer with me, I had him only for 11 years of my life, but I think we were very close together ( I barely knew my paternal grandparents). He loved horses and pigeons. I still have his postcards of horses and little calendar with his writings. I miss him!

You are lucky to have had your grandfather, I'm sorry it was for so short a time.
It is difficult for many of us who did not have firsthand knowledge of it, or relatives affected by it, to really understand how traumatic and horrible those WWII years must have been for those who were directly affected. I'm very sorry for what your family had to endure.
You are right that life in America was much easier for many people compared to what was happening in Poland, but there has always been poverty here, and my grandmother was poor herself for many years. Luckily when her children were grown they took care of her and she lived very comfortably in her later years, and did quite a bit of traveling as well.
