Impact
On full view, this picture is mind blowing. The sheer size and presence impact the viewer. This is not just an art piece one can glance at for a few seconds, and then leave a one word comment on.
The first aspect I noticed is the depth of field. The horizon of this photo is not the end, as the sky and land look they continue forever. The second thing I notice is the glow of the clouds and the land, especially the grass and trees near the bottom. This enriches the greens below and the creams above. The third thing I notice is the light rays coming down in the background. This is the final touch that accents the glow and completes the magical feeling of the picture.
However, in this masterpiece is one very small imperfection. In both of the upper left and right corners, the sky suddenly becomes very dark. This sudden darkening seems out of place.
Overall, fantastic photo! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments, as for the darkening of the corners I never noticed this before you pointed it out. Maybe It should be slightly cropped, what do you think? It is a fantastic view and the sky that day was awesome. So good that I decided not to go to work and spend the day walking around the hill taking about 500 pics until my battery died after 6 or so hours!!

Ha - I love those days!
A simple crop would be fine, but I don't think it is noticeable enough for that.

I loved this photo the first time I saw it, it truly is of unreal beauty. The colors of the land & the incredibly rich sky textures are both aspects that really speak to me.
It's interesting to see how some photos stick with you. I faved this several months ago, and yet it's one of perhaps a dozen photos in total that made me start going through my entire faves gallery in search of with the intention of adding them to the #unreal-photos gallery. .
Next up, I've got to find an incredible HDRi of a gas pump. I Wish I could remember the artists's names instead, cuz going through all my faves really is like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack.

I know what you mean - I've searched for specific pictures myself - it can take all weekend.

Wow... you've captured so much of the view in this. It's almost like you can see a hint of a curve to the land as it trails off in the distance. The sepia cast to the green and the sky gives this a nostalgic air, and the shorter horizon line doesn't detract from the landscape. This would definitely be a slightly overwhelming sight, I think.

i love the feeling of depth the pictures gives you. the one thing i have to say tho is that the photo doesn't really match up color wise on the top and bottem, the bottom seems more vivid while the top seems to have been "sepiated"? or something lol
