I only played The Witcher a few times, but saw the intro, and yeah...I think you captured him perfectly.

When I read the first book it seemed that Geralt tries very hard to convince himself he's this total cynic, and then his idealism shines through at the most unexpected places.

Aw thanks. I really really like Geralt, he's the most believable game characters of all time. Maybe because of the books but still, they managed to keep him intact.

This makes me think of dry pastels on dark paper, soft and grainy. I like it. Your usual sketch lines are also missing. It's strange to see a man that is so obviously pretty hardened look so vulnerable but that makes it the more interesting. I don't know if it's my monitors but his skin seems a tiny bit pink. I want to hug him but would probably get spiked by something nasty.

I'd suggest not to. You are likely to catch something nasty.

Absolutely! And the pleasure is all mine. Who can a kid that grew up with the Moomin books and comic books admire but Stinky?

Not sure about that. Geralt is pretty open when it comes to women. At least with no strings attached. In the books he has lost all pigmentation going through extra tough Witcher training (he was the only survivor). I could not imagine what that kind of skin might look like but surely a bit on the pinkish side. There is (especially when he's young) a touch of idealism which turns to cynicism. Still breaks through from time to time.

Aha! Well, as I don't know the character at all I suppose I view him from a slightly different angle. Anyway, he looks sweet.

Ha, lovely! I love Sapkowski, oh meybe his books not him It's a great feeling to see witcher fanarts anywhere, especially as beautifull as yours
I find it really sad that sapkowski isn't a very well known writer round the world
Have you ever read his books or only played the games?

I've read the two first long before I played the game. I loved cynical Geralt and the play with old myths and tales, you never knew who was the bad guy/girl until the end. And in 'the last wish' when Geralt had performed what he thought was a successful spell and the demon disappeared in a rage, to later find out he had just said 'go fuck yourself' with the power of three wishes... To my mind Geralt is one of the richest game charaters ever and double-kudos to project red for creating a European game on that scale. (We Swedes have Battlefield but that intensest me not)

You can do more Geralt, you know. And I loved that quote from him in the book. It sums up exactly what he is about.

You need to! As she says, you can start with Witcher 2. It is easier to get into and start enjoying the story. The first has a bit more challenge to it.

Aw thanks. I think you have to. You can start comfortably with Witcher 2 (W1) was kind of, eh, boring at times and no significant choices are carried to W2, which is a fantastic game. The colors, the clothes, the plot. One hint, you don't play snappy renegade- If you do you're dead, seriously.

Ah, the armour is from the first witcher game. Not as spectacular as in W2 but I wanted the focus to be on his face. The scene I imagined is from the book 'The last wish'. Thank you so much for the comments!
