Dankeschön! Dabei bekommen wir wohl wieder mal einen "Frommer" - mehr Sommer als Frühling. Vor ein paar Tagen waren die Temperaturen schon wieder raketenartig Richtung 28°C geklettert, und gefühlt lag die Luft eher bei über 30°... Seit Jahren schon vermisse ich einen echten Frühling.

Da kann ich nur zustimmen! Unsere Felsenbirne ist inner halb von nur 3 Tagen aufgeblüht und wieder verblüht. Der Sturm gestern hat dafür gesorgt, dass heute keine einzige Blüte mehr am Baum ist.

I don't see why one wouldn't take photos of them. In some species, like the blackbird, the female looks much more interesting IMHO, especially when the light is just right.
That being said, I noticed that the males of most (dimorphic) species seem more eager to show themselves. This is even more the case during the mating season, but not just limited to it.
(On a related note, I just came back from a walk through a nearby forest. For some reason it seems the blackcaps have taken over, and from what I could tell it was mostly male ones that I saw. Seems like they *really* need to make their presence known.)
