When I see a ship shaped like this (especially a capital ship), I will always remember the TCS Midway from Wing Commander Prophecy (released 1997). That was a beautiful ship.

Most may disagree with me, but I think they missed the mark with this and the Kazon Predator/Starhawk. In general, there haven't been many ship designs outside of the original trilogy that are as good as the original trilogy ships. Most of the new ships cheapen the franchise for me, and make it little better than other low budget, generic sci fi properties.

I hear where you're coming from as far as canon to a particular movie or series.
Some ships such as is the case with Star Trek Discovery and JJprises are far more advanced in comparison to the original.
Personally, I can't get enough ship designs to work with. LOL
