Is any of this from Angry Red Planet? The Martians from that one must have been led by their equivalent of Donald Trump. They definitely didn't like Earth visitors very much.

Nothing to do with Angry Red Planet though that's a cool movie.
BTW, I'll allow your Trump slap since I'm a big boy, just please refrain from that in the future.

I know I stated anti-trump views to you already but I *wasn't* stating any overt disapproval in this case. I merely referred to the concept of Trump's immigration policies, nothing more... NOT what I think of it. I just see it as a good analogy here.
After all, why *would* martians want to allow us dirty humans in? Seriously. That's NOT a dig at Trump.
In the Martians' case they're perfectly right to keep us out! Mars in that movie had its own (presumably thriving) civilization that was far above our own (they were one with their environment for a start and could control all the lifeforms there). Humans were literally the barbarians at the gate who came in uninvited and unannounced, and promptly started killing everything they met (or at least the trigger-happy guy with the freeze ray did) starting with killing some trees just standing around treeing. Hell, even the rat-bat-spider was (however inadvertently) attacked first when some idiot chopped at its leg thinking it was a tree. Was too dumb to look up first to see what he was actually chopping at.
You have to admit, those Martians had their own version of 'the wall' and apparently rightfully so. Humans *are* trash... at least by Martian standards. At least *they* didn't want to invade *us*.

The first thing humans on Mars might see is a big sign reading...
Earthers Go Home!

And well they might. As the martians in Angry Red Planet said, we had some growing up to do socially. Sixty years on, that's still true - we've learned a few lessons sure; but not enough. Not that the Martians themselves were very nice about it either.
The Mars I always wished most was real was one we never actually got to see but which sounded pretty cool. it was the Martian civilization Uncle Martin came from in the original 1960s TV version of my Favorite Martian. Peaceful and highly advanced, maybe we could contacted them by now and learned how to get along with one another better in the process.

Agreed on the human race generally not becoming much better socially than it's ever been in these years.
Too bad they never did focus on the Mars from My Favorite Martian.

Well, Disney did make a movie version of the show with Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Martin back in the late 90s, but the glimpse we got of Uncle Martin's civilization there was unfortunately kind of cartoonish and silly.

The dumbing down by adding too much silliness has ruined a lot of shows that would have been far better without it.
