I was glad to have once owned the original Leif Ericson Galactic Cruiser light up model kit back in 1968, as well as the later glow in the dark version called the UFO Mystery Ship.
The ship was planned on being used in the ill fated George Pal War Of The Worlds TV series, too.

I had it back as a kid for Star Trek --the UFO mystery ship-- it was hard to get back then too!

Well, sort of.
My grandmother threw out the old model remains years ago, when I was a kid.
(She tried to dress me as howdy Doody when I was 21, convinced I could still fit in 8-year old boy red corduroy ("because it was on sale!")
So, she didn't quite get the whole Space-age thing.)
Although, she did like Fire Maidens from Outer Space. That was "Sci-Fi" to her. Mainly because she briefly worked for Zsa Zsa Gabor back, once upon a time, during the studio system days.
Anything from the 60's on? Beyond her comprehension.
But, one day, I will get back to that model, and build it.
...without the giant glue blobs.
