Description Finnally done, my second entry for the eye of terror contest. Hes a chaos renegade, so he fits the rules, and hes an enforcer, wich makes him ressponsible for keeping anarchy out of the renegade ranks, making him an unsung hero. It is also my second model where i have tried blending, with mediocre effect.

A little teaser: i also tried blending on an AOBR marine, with white... and i ordered a really old box, that may have the name of RTB01 where ill use tht white blending, some black with a weird yellow pattern, a black raven (metaphore), and a will try some lime, the source of Heresy(again, a metaphore), and last but not least, the fifth mini will be (maybe) an angel... could be a dark one, or a bloody one.

Fantastic!

You did a great job on the fatigues, especially the mud. And I also like how you did the wear and scratches on the mask.

How did you do the rust on the metals?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Olivier2302 In reply to emilfrojd [2011-12-03 11:10:43 +0000 UTC]

The rust was made using pigments, product of AK interactive(google it if you want, they are produced by the Master-Weatherer, Miguel Jimenez). I painted all the metallics with boltgun metal, then put a heavy coat of the pigment dust, then took a brush to remove as much as i could(if you use your finger, it will remove it all, so be carefull). Then, i used an other of their products, wich is a rust streak enamel 'colour', wich saddly was for green vehicle, resulting to a greenish look. The streak was painted like if it hs pooled on some plases, or streaking (ha ha..) from bolts and joints. then, on some parts i added some of the previous powder, wich was removed quite a lot. Last step, the least well made, was made using a sponge(a bad one sadly) that i dipped on chainmail, and then drybrushed on some metal parts where you could see some tear and scratches, such as the leg and forehand plates(black parts)(used the same on my DKOK)

I hope i was helpfull.

The scruffy rust job and all works fine on this. Though I have no idea over the verdigris. That only happens on bronze and similar materials, and this is what? Steel? Doesn't happen, bub.

But I like the blends and the dirt and grime. This mini oozes menace, really.

Some of the photos are a bit too fuzzy to make anything out on though, sorry.

Not the most precise paintjob, but it works very well for this kind of mini imo.

Well, its bronze, that has been oxidized a lot, due to the corosive atmosphere of Vraks. Its all this way, since bronze and copper are rustingg, creating an impermeable coat, not leting the rest of the metal to be damaged.

The pics are bad, i know, but i really dont know how to correct this, i took something like 260 pictures, wasted 8 batteries. i think ill have to build a photo box.

And the paintjob is not precise as you said on the pants, if i am right? Of course the blend didnt go as expected, but got nice, since its my second. And for the pants, well i cant deny the fact GW has to rework the cadians, after 9 years. Such as the fucking SM and CSM and termies...

Oh and the glow on the eyes? hand painted ,not glossed

You sure you don't have the macro function on? Even that requires you being a bit away from the camera. What kind of camera do you have.

The paintjob works well to do what it should down on the pants, imo. Are the Cadians really 9 years old? I dun believe it!

SM tacticals are still fine imo. As with most of the Chaos line. The termies are fairly new, though (2007).

I'm all for plastic Raptors and Oblits!

The glow on the eyes is awesome, as always with you, Olivier!

I got the macro but i dont know whats happening with it. Did the same shit with the necrons.

Well, ive seen cadians in the eye of terror 'dex, wich came from 2003 so 8.5 years.

As for the marines, they can be good ,but the torsos on the gry wolves dont fit perfectlly, and the legs on the termies and SM/CSM are horrible.

Oh yeah!!! Still gotta wait for summer to come for them :/

Thanks

I'd help you if I was in Greece. I'm not, though... sadly. I bet the weather, despite the economic upheaval, is a fair lot better than the weather made of arse we have here.

Sure those weren't the metal ones that pre-dated the plastic boxed set? Because that wasn't released until 4th edition iirc.

Ok, talk about missing a beat with Soace Wolfes/grey Knights and legs on termies have never been a GW strength...

Chaos Legions... Can't fucking wait! Pfft, tau and Black templars inbetween. Gimme my Kayoss!

Uh... i miss snow:/

[link] 2002 for 'em took a while to find it tho..

Never been a strength, but i want good model! i dont enjoy them as much, nor im pleased to paint termies with such legs..

Well, new tau might be good for me to get a dron or a simple fire warrior, maybe using NMM on 'em, but the black templs= disaproving, since not many have BT. GW wastes money here i think, they should make new ,better plastic cadians, catachans, vostroyans, valhallans, steel legion, ROUGH RIDERS (!), and, finnally, mordian!

Whats kayoss?

Belazikkal In reply to Olivier2302 [2011-12-03 18:42:25 +0000 UTC]

Woah, that's old...

I want plastic Steel Legion. For obvious reasons.

Kayoss is Chaos misspelt to sound like the cultists from Dawn of War say it.
