I dont like these as much as the others in the collection, but theyre still amazing photos.
Throughout the entire series, you have played with my mind using abstract perspectives and sharp contrasts, and truly believe every single one of the shots were technically perfect, and probably the best of all of your shots so far. I cant wait to see more shots like this..keep inspiring me olya

I will leave it at this:
This whole series is, in my eyes, your best and most artistic work.
I'm not going to fav them because I really wish I could have them all in one. Maybe you could cater to that need for me.
Beautiful work Olya. Absolutely gorgeous.
Unfortunately, I don't think this will be as well recieved as some of your other work. Don't let it bug you though. Declivity is truly wonderful work.

I am pleased to add comment.
Your series is unusual to that found in most submissions. That is to say a committed direction, with warning that you intend to stand by and defend your mind and eyes.
So..The strong forms used to create the intentions are remarkable in that the viewer is able to handle visual stimulation on two distinct levels.
One the OBJECT. Identifiable and clear in its depiction.
Two the ABSTRACTION. Once again, clearly definable and as strong as the object.
Usually if the "abstract" gets mixed with the "actual" some confusion ensues. I find no confusion in your images, they are clear, precise and given their title, consistent in their direction and intent. To put this in some sort of context, the works are magnetic one to another. The images collect a singular experience that exercises both mind and eye.
I use to Lecture at Art School..
I give you 1st. Class Honours.
I have been very serious, as you asked, and hope that my short comment has been useful.

This is my favorite out of all of them. The composition and angle of the shot from your minds eye is a perfect capture. You keep amazing me, and please submit this one to DAPrints.

the photo at the bottom is amazing, the dark scene with all the lights is brilliant.
I like the series you made (even if I didn't like some of the photos too much), it was a pleasure to view. Very interesting concept - keep it up!

I know what you mean ... there are times when we are very proud of our own work. And for some of us, that's a rare thing. Artists are often their own worst critics, and for you to see that this series has great impact is simply wonderful.
I'm not going to judge individual images, I happen to like the entire series. And for me, you have captured it well. You have expressed yourself in this series, and you have entitled it appropriately.
Wonderful work Olya!

Hmm...
As I sit here will all of them open on my screen, I cannot really pick a favorite (I'm leaning towards the first pair). I like the patterns and planes you have selected. The POV in most cases could not be better. You have managed to capture perfect shadows and textures... everyday items that we see, but don't really look at.
*hoping that made sense*
This is an impressive collection indeed. Well done my friend.

Love the curve in the top pic and the depth in the second shot...I'm loving these two, besides the first pair
The whole series has been refreshing
I've gotta say my favourite has got to be the first and the last pair

the whole series is fantastic. personally, i like the first and 3rd pair.
i have only seen such good use of geometrical composition in two other artists, Jeffrey Smart (painter, composition was good, tho i didnt like the work too much) and simonoflageddofdad or something like that... i forget.. he was a photographer and i stumbled across his online portfolio one day.
outstanding work here. im glad you're on my watch

Well, if my post gets there in time, then I will be the first.
Declevity 1 is a great image with low hues, lots of greys. Wonderful lines and composition...it speaks softly when looked at.
I like this one 2nd best of all 4 because of your ways with the two planes, the thick borders, and the two moments in time we are forced to recognise.
Declevity 2 is also extremely linear, however, you develop more deeper blacks and whites to create more of an intense relationship between the two. It is a great double image that work well together. This one, olya, is my favorite of the 4.
Declevity 3 also speaks of great abstract imagery that only tantalizes the best minimalist activity in my head. I love the simple designs of architecture.
And Declevity 4....a wonder in itself. The round image in the top sets a different tone throughout your series...it almost seems like this is the final image, and that it is turning in on itself, turning in on the whole set of architectural pictures...either with lights or structures.
This is my 3rd favorite, and #3 is my 4th fave.
Beautiful series, I must say, and it is a pleasure watching you. Your work is stunning.
