What a candid, sweet, and beautiful shot Olya!!! I like a lot the composition of it, I mean, your arm with the white cotton texture, similar to the dogs hair at the top of the photo, and the bottom of it in a more obscure zone, and the slipper in the bottom adds a lot to the balance of the composition. Beautiful.

wow....this is COOL...bet the puppy likes to
my puppy got real old fast, he's not even 10, and his hips are giving out. these are like puppies best moments. young, strong, but weak. my golden, is growing old, and I miss his puppy
. his cuddle, and that he kept me warm when I slept on my lazy body, or my water bed. My puupy morgan he's gotten older but he still has a part of that young puppy smell, he's just in a older doggy shell.

When I was a kid, my neighbours had a dog that looked exactly like that. I used to go over to their house all the time, and their dog would just run up to me and knock me right down. Don't know if the dog was just hyper, or it had no feeling in it's face (or heck, maybe a bit of both) but it was just a crazy animal. Whenever it was lying down, though, it was always so calm and peaceful until it had at least an hour or a half an hour for it to wake up. Really brings back all those memories here.
Everything about this photo really shows off the title. Not only the dog, but the clothes that you've got on there. Nice, comfy sweater, and a pair of fuzzy pants (they look fuzzy, they may not be) all wrapped up into sepia tones. Just sets such a lovely scene, and really shows that peaceful, lazy dog kind of attitude. I know that hyper dogs are impossible to calm down sometimes (hence why I've got no pet photos in my gallery) so kudos to you for that. Really just an awesome photo here. Great work, Olya.

That's a digital image? While it doesn't have the punch of real B&W, it does have the tones. I'm intruiged.

Beautiful shot... I have to agree with tzen, it does seem to have a somewhat sad feeling to it... perhaps because of the darkness and overall stillness of the shot... regardless, it work. Nice work!

that seems like a very peaceful dog, she must be a blast to play with!
i also like the lack of saturated colors, and how everything has a smooth sepia tone, which goes with the soft lightning and specularity.
I like how your leg and hand are there, implying the connection that you have with your pet, and how she seems to just be relaxed.
My only "complaint" is the slipper. I dont know what its doing there, the only thing that comes to mind is that its soft like the dog....but other than that i found my eyes to be going towards it more than towards Shady, which is where they should be going.
Hmmmm maybe im gonna take a similar picture with my iguana......oh wait hes gonna run off

:hugs: thank you for stopping by!
well, she's not peaceful at all, actually. she's SUPAH friendly but also SUPAH hyper.
thank you, i liked the sepia toned version much more than the other one.
see, i put the slipper there on purpose. its soft and fluffy and gives it a feel of HOME (which is where you wear slippers) so that that connection is there.
your iguana is frigging cool without slippers!

a HYPER golden retriever? what a tease! i've always wanted a hyper dog, but alas, the conditions were never right for me to have one. Someday i'll have one.
my iguana is only calm when chilling on my forearm, licking it every few seconds, when i get close to trim its nails and h/she licks my nose, or when its just basking on the branches, which is most of the time.
which reminds me......i gotta take some pictures, it grew to about twice the size of what it was when i got it, which was when i took the other pictures.

so you and iguana - you really have a ... thing going? like she recognizes you and stuff?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
dinyctis In reply to olya [2004-06-14 19:56:30 +0000 UTC]
i cant really tell whether she recognizes me or not. She might be chilling and when i enter the room or get closer she might raise her head a little bit, but that might be just being alert. A good thing is that she doesnt think im a predator, so she isnt afraid. She does know that i'm the food suplier, so whenever shes hungry, she goes to the part of her habitat thats closer to me and just looks at me. She doesnt mind chilling on my arm and looking around. One time she even crawled up to my shoulder, licked my ear lobe, and then jumped onto my desk. But shes way too small to let wonder around loose, she will try to climb anything and its pretty hazardous. Shes pretty docile, but female iguanas are normally more docile than males.

that's so cool. its like ... non verbal communication.
i guess if you feed her you can't be the predator.
and the licking hte earlobe is the cutest thing EVER!
