Skin was my second favourite Generation Xer...Β
I really hope he returns, I love him to bits.
My beloved Irishman Banshee did return... but heβs been gone for over six years while he gets reprogrammed back to his pre-Horseman self.Β
Oh yeah, and Synch too. Not sure how many of these guys are alive now and who is still dead. I know Angelo and Everett are, Seanβs in a currently six year long rehab limbo.

Banshee was killed in action during the introduction of Vulcan. I think Moira was killed by Mystique... not really sure about that.

Oh, I included him in another drawing, New Mutants... didn't want anyone appearing more than once in the X-Men set. And since he's alive and with the team again, I put him there.

Anodyne....hmmm...was that Maddie when Loki gave a set of humans powers?
Don't remember this firefist...was he one of the 'new batch' of students with Icarus and Wallflaower?

Anodyne is/was Maddie, yes.
Firefist is Rusty Collins, the original X-Factor's first trainee and a former New Mutant. Icarus and Wallflower became students years later.

AHHH! I do NOT believe I forgot Rusty's codename!! hehe
See, I recognize "Rusty Collins" but not Firefist
Wasn't Icarus a Guthrie? Like the third eldest, after Sam and Paige? I heard that somewhere and was thinking "that's what's his name Josh/Jay, the third-born? The one shown in an annual w/cannonball (I think Lila & Dazzler in it too) where it showed he still didn't have anypowers just a great singing voice? Gee the Guthrie boys really are 'late bloomers' when it comes to their powers emerging".

Yup, Icarus was one of the Guthries... I dunno if he has other powers aside from having wings/the ability to fly. Must check.
Oh cool, you do remember Rusty! Hope he returns someday for real. He was reanimated during the Necrosha event.

His singing was a talent, the GN was years ago before the expansion of the mutant population in Marvel. Back when it was just the X-Men and New Mutants, even before the Marauders & Mr Sinister....way old story lol
If I rmember it right, Sam was nervous about introducing Lila to his mom, Lila took it as he was ashamed of her and they argued. Later her tour bus crashed and Sam and his brother go to help. Icarus (what WAS his birth name? I remember it was Joshua back then, but he was called Jay at the Academy) sang to help Alison aka Dazzler (who was in Lila's band)so she can blast the bus side and free the band(&herself) to get out.
About Irarus' powers,I think that along with his wings, I think he had a sonic screem...not as strong like Banshee.
YEah Firsefist did nothing to jog my memory, but soon as I saw "Rusty Collins" I was picturing the time he went out from the original X-Factor's Ship and met Skids. I was like "Oh yeah, Him!" Its been awhile since I've read the events in Marvel, I just can't afford the over $20-30 a month to get all the mutant titles anymore. I used to follow them...when there was only at least 4 titles( back w/the orginal Excalibur - Ct. bRitian, Kitty ect), no more.
But I read at some site a brief overview of events so I know of Necrosha event. ....really it's marvel and thier ...obsession ... with not allowing a character to have a real death. THEY may call it "Necrosha Event" but I know some fans call it "the MARVAL Effect". It was a good time for them to say "Hey, I got an idea! Have character X go wacko and in the end it cause dozens of dead characters to return to life! That way we can bring back some cash cows at some future event. So what if some were just to-bit or forgotten characters. Fans will love the tie-in to the past events. Old fans will come back and the newer ones will go and buy past issues where those characters first showed up!"
I really wanted to tell Marvel if they wanted to keep fans they needed to just give attention to the current characters they have (many are on the alive but forgotten list) and not leave storyline dragging or give a shoddy explaination to events.... I'm thinking of my fave charater here - Kitty Pryde- here and how MArvel left out in space (REALLY! Old time writers wouldn't have forgotten her!Shooter would followed up) but when they want her back they give a lousy story to do so. Dr Strange wasn't able to help her in the begining, not to stop the bullet or get her out. YEt they say "Hey its time to bring Mags back on the good side...AGAIN... so let him bring her back and foget why no one else couldn't save her before now!"

I know most of the X-characters drawn in this fanart but Anodyne? I have never heard of her before. Is she from the very old issues of X-Men?
Anyway, you did a great job on drawing those characters for a group pose.

Hi mitch, Anodyne is actually Madelyne Pryor (Summers). She was only powered during the two issues of X-Men-Alpha Flight.
I consider her an honorary member, since she fought with them many times (she even sacrificed herself with them during Fall of the Mutants). So I included her. I prefer her as Anodyne than plain Madelyne (at least here) and I think I wanna draw here as Goblin Queen in a different set.
Thanks!

I liked her as Anodyne too, better than plain Maddie, who Mrcel sent into madness with jealous rage due to Jean's return and a demon's influence. The Goblin Queen was a good at being bad character.
Seriously, does anyone ever STAY dead at Marvel? Some characters have wiggle room or are pronounced dead (or worse left for dead!) when there's no proof = like the recent events to Kitty Pryde.
Then there are characters that Marvel show dying. Soemtimes they say "opps it was a clone(Maddie)/impostor(1st Phoenix)/the younger version (WTF! - Illyana) that died. SO Jean Grey and Illyana both came back
...seriously I hated the version Marvel gave for Illyana, its bettert o say that the kid who died from the Legacy virus was from a different dimension (same one as other dead x-men in limbo came from)
Worse is the ones that die and are known to be the real deal - such as Collosus who was CREMATED and his ashes spread over the Russian farm where he grew up, but an alien resurected him? WTF! Sure we know that alien species can clone a human, but Ord was never shown being able to summon SOULS to place back into a cloned body.

Yup, nobody stays dead for long... and yeah, some resurrections are better executed than others.
