This looks much more easier than the others but I have question if you change the layer into a burn layer and then you want to add light it will turn darker not lighter right? so I have to make anoher layer for the snines?

can I ask one more thing *runs* don't throw anything at me plz!lol anyway I have already done the lineart and the the bakcground one image so now the lineart IS the background..so how I'm going to clean the extra shadows sorry for all those questions

Omar6 In reply to takari-anfun [2010-01-28 23:54:41 +0000 UTC]

its okay,,,,lol ask me whatever you want i will be glad to help.

so if you have the line art as single layer with a white background.

now you have to select the Magic wand tool,,,,and click to select the white areas of the background that you dont want the shadows layer to affect.

when you have the areas selected....go back to the layer of the shadows and press delete

now you press crl+d to deselect.

and you will have the shadows in the wanted area only.

if you face trouble with this,....i will be glad to help...just ask.

I have been looking all over deviantART for this tutorial! It's brilliant and a much time-conservative way to color and shade lineart. I'm totally going to use this tutorial for my next drawings. Thanks! You really made my day.

Beng91 In reply to Aerith-sama [2009-12-23 14:29:13 +0000 UTC]

you don't need a tablet for this technique though
in act using the pen tool allows you to color, and line art without the use of a tablet, though for line art I would recommend SAI

Aerith-sama In reply to Beng91 [2009-12-23 18:00:13 +0000 UTC]

i have painttool say, and i love it
making linearts with a mouse works with CorelDRAW the best ^___^ (in my opinion, it's really easy)
but recently i tried to color stuff, but damn it would be much more easier with a tablet and it would look way better because of the pressure and sensibility...
making linearts with sai is kinda hard for me, it looks so... not soft and kinda awkward if you know what i mean
thank you for your comment

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Beng91 In reply to Aerith-sama [2009-12-23 21:04:06 +0000 UTC]

how is that possible
you're using normal layers
when creating line art with SAI you use a vector layer see these 2 tutorials: 1 ,2

for a full list of SAI tutorials and other visit the #ArtistsHospital

Aerith-sama In reply to Beng91 [2009-12-23 21:10:01 +0000 UTC]

mh.. when i want to do the lineart with sai, i make a new lineart layer... was that wrong of me?

oh awesome~ gonna check them right now!!! thank you for your advise
gonna check them right now, i hope they'll help me ^___^
