Corpusgnathan is an evolution of the Tanybrachidae clade

Corpusgnathan ("Body Jaw") is a clade of Tanybrachidae that, forced by the disappearance of some rainforests, evolved their 2nd pair of limbs, the strongest ones, for running; the first pair of limbs became longer and thinner, with a bulge on the end, to be used as counterbalance during the run. The 3rd and 4th pair of limbs became serrated claws, and the gonapods, being now at the front of the creature, evolved into a shell-like structure, that opens only for procreation. This clade, evolved for predation, uses the long arc of movement of their running limbs both for endurance run and short sprints. When chasing, the Corpusgnathan does a sprint to approach to the pray, and then spring it's serrated claws trough the pray, ripping big wounds on it. Then, it continues the chase in endurance run, waiting for the pray to bleed out.
