Wow, very interesting. The dark paint really brings the focus to his eyes. It also reminds me of mummified bog people skin, which is dark from the bog tannins. So this is a wild juxtoposition between skin that reminds me of well preserved death, and eyes that are bright and clearly alive. Talk about a stream of consciousness comment here....very nice composition, seriously.
