Part one of two of a special edition Halloween Masquerade duo, one out of nine overall Halloween pictures for the '06 season. Finally finished.

This one had so much potential, but I feel that I failed it. It's living proof of how out of practice I am. Not only is red incredibly difficult to work with and get looking just right, but the Crimson Lake pencil I used for her dress came out like crap, leaving these horrid black marks all over the place that couldn't be covered up with anything else. Then Prismacolor changes the composition of the lead in their Black pencils, making them all waxy and gross and incredibly hard to blend (the shading on the ruffle trim looks awful, too). The title of a picture has never been more true to the overall effect of it; this one made me feel physically ill as I attempted to finish it. Yarg. Hopefully its counterpart will come out better.
