Description Well as I'm finally over half way done with all of the character pages, I felt like it was time to draw one of my personal characters in the story. Meet Blaise, AKA "teh ghey furry"

Blaise was an Italian-American (yes ADMIX is incorporating real places) born lion. After losing his father to a shooting and his mother to a fire, Blaise hasn't been the kind to see life positively. He's lived with his great aunt for the last few years until she too passed away. Afterward Blaise was alone, until he met another character in ADMIX. His life was never the same.

Another anthro character in ADMIX, and don't worry, having human/anthro/machines in my story is explained. ^^ It's not random in the least.

Also, I decided to try a new coloring style. I think it makes it look more professional. ^^ Tell me what you think!

Blaise is copyright me!

The shading ia awesome! Its so crisp and real! The pose is very smooth, and relaxed. Very nice folds in the clothing too! Anatomy is excellent! and the muscular tone is wonderful. I love the highlights to the body you added. really pops off the page. The outit I noticed has an incorporation of Greek and American styles. Looking similar to a toga, but with long pants that are loose fit. And the reflection on the bottom, very cool! The expression is very calm but joyous, and easy to look at. Its just an awesome picture, I cant wait to see more ADMIX!

Aww, Thanks dude~! ^^

But ya do know that you can say negative things too right? Don't worry, I can take it.

There was nothing negative O_O

but that would mean I'm perfect and could never become better...and that's depressing. The part of art that I love the most is the ability to improve in skill and expression.

But I must say....absolutely amazing job on this piece in both the drawing itself and the coloring! (Very lovely color scheme and the shading looks AWESOME!!!) As for the look...I'm not sure if it would have a professional look (in part cuz I don't know what "professional" looks like XD) but I like it ^ w ^

Amazingly awesome job and I can't wait to see what's in store for him as well as myself!

Me - Sooooooo AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOME

I was wondering when you were going to introduce one of your own characters. Such a sad bio though, but the great-aunt part isn't as startling. She does have to be reasonably old to get that title after all

Well, I'm not sure how professional one can look when they're wearing an open shirt, but I suppose I have to consider the anthro part. It does sort of, but he looks too happy to be full professional. That's probably a good thing though.

When I said professional looking, I meant that I wanted the picture to have a finished look to it. Not just some picture that some kid drew. I never meant for people to think that Blaise himself has a professional look, just the image.

Lord-Makuta In reply to Omegaro [2009-04-16 21:16:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh oh oh....my bad

If that's the case the image itself looks very professional. It's very well made, the background and character flow together smoothly with no awkward parts anywhere whatsoever.

Italian-American? Hmm, that explains the toga, The colouring style and shadows look good ^.=.^

Omegaro In reply to aliancedragoncomandr [2009-04-16 07:25:32 +0000 UTC]

Well, he doesn't normally dress like that. I just wanted him to have a cool outfit for the ADMIX comic. ^^

As for the shading I tried to have it purple based instead of black shading. I think it gives it more character. And I did the line art thinner as well. oh, and thanks XD

Hmmm, I kinda heard in my short animation course and my art class before that shadows in colour are not really black or grey, the true colour of shadows and shading is about grayish-purple to grayish-blue. that's good you tried purple based shading

Hmm, I've never heard that, but it makes sense. I guess that's why I tried it here. And it worked so much better too.
