Right click on the image, and click on 'save image as' (I think) then you go to your settings (accesed by the triangle by your name) and click on the upload new icon button, select the file you saved it as, and voila. It should work.
You aren't stupid. I was completely astounded by dA when I first arrived. Thanks for your interest in my art.
