I need to get back to writing longer stuff. I'm so lazy with it. I'll probably do stuff like this more this year.

This is my Horror/Southern Gothic/Resident Evil 7 OC.
She was supposed to be an adoptable but I kind of got too invested ...

Name: Elle (Bailey) Harper

Age: 22

Weight: 120lb

Height: 5’6

Eye colour: Hazel

Hair Colour: Dark brown, with the ends being blonde from a long grown out dye job.

Brief Physical Description: Elle is slightly above average height for a female, standing at 5’6. She has a thin, slender frame and is slightly underweight. She is Caucasian with a pale complexion. Her skin is usually splattered with dirt, grime and some occasion’s bruises. Her hands are quite calloused and scuffed from regular manual labour. Her face is heart shaped, that’s gaunt with high cheekbones. She has two large hazel coloured eyes that often look weary, sad and have dark circles under them. Her frazzled, scraggly hair is long, falling just short of her waist, and is shorter to the front of her face. It is an ash chestnut shade of brown, with the tips of it being blonde from when she had it dyed before she was kidnapped. While she has cut her hair whilst in captivity, she is hesitant to get rid of the last part of blonde, seeing it as a piece of her still left from before she was taken. Now, she usually keeps it tied up in a bun.

In general, Elle dresses modestly, typically in long skirts made of thick fabric and blouses. Some of her clothing fits poorly due to being too baggy. She has gotten her clothing from Grandma Harper and Enid ‘Ma’ Harper. Grandma’s hand-me-downs tend to fit her better. Her clothing is often grubby and dirty, particularly on the ends of her skirts and dresses. While doing chores around the yard and house, she usually wears an apron that has some light bloodstains on it that she can’t get to wash out anymore. Her day-to-day footwear consists of second hand leather, tie-up ankle boots.

Accent/Voice: Her voice is soft, quiet and while it is light, it is not too high pitched. It is very easy to notice that her accent is different from that of the rest of the Harper family. While she has picked up on the backwater Southern twang, hers is not as strong and her elocution is much better.

Personality: Elle is incredibly timid. She keeps her head down and does as she told with as little complaint as possible. She’s incredibly submissive and will instantly apologise to others even if she has done nothing wrong if she thinks it will quell someone’s anger and aggression. Slightly skittish in nature, and tends to be quite jumpy. She flinches a lot at loud noises, especially when the source of the noise is from someone shouting or yelling. Her nervous nature never seems to leave her fully. She is hesitant to speak too much, and constantly worries that she’s being watched closely by the Harper family members.

She is prone to bouts of melancholy, particularly at night when she has nothing to keep her busy. This has become more and more common since the death of her infant.

While she does not get many chances to show this side of her personality in her current situation, Elle is kind hearted and caring. She can also be quite naïve. Despite this, if she’s pushed too far into trying going against the Harper family, she will either completely withdraw from those trying to convince her to do so, no matter how good their intentions, or become temporarily aggressive.

Mental Conditions: Sever Anxiety Disorder, Paranoia, Depression.
Elle carries out whatever the Harpers want, and speaks to them with utmost respect. They trust her enough to be let out of the family home and around the yard to do some of the lighter outdoor work. While this could be mistake for Stockholm Syndrome, it should be noted that Elle does not have this condition. She does not empathize with her captors, but she is terrified of them. This fear is what makes her compliant.
Traumas: (very short points from her bio)

Initial attack and kidnapping.
Being held captive (current time as captive: 3 years).
Forced to eat human flesh.
Physical, verbal, sexual abuse.
Witnessing the death of two of her friends and being forced to help cook and eat those friends.
Two miscarriages and successful but unsterile home birth.
Infants death and being made to eat some of said infant.

Weapons: Elle is typically a non-combatant type. She is rather submissive and passive if it means she can avoid getting into an argument or in trouble. Should tensions flare and the situation escalate, she is much more likely to run and hide from the confrontations than take part in it.

If Elle is pushed enough to use a weapon, it is typically something in her immediate surroundings. This can range from kitchen utensils like knives, meat cleavers and carving forks to tool like hammers, felling axes and potentially a pump action shotgun (Mossberg 500?). Putting her under severe mental stress, such as getting her to disobey the Harper family too much, or especially trying to get her to escape, can trigger a mental snap. These attacks are short lived as she will always take ‘flight’ over ‘fight’. Should her thoughts become even slightly clear enough to see an opening to escape the situation, she will take that.
It doesn’t seem likely she would raise any sort of weapon to any members of the Harper family, even if it’s in self-defence.
