The beautiful sight of a witch exploding into pieces as it drops it's grief seed.

This can really be interpreted however you want. He could be talking about the witch or maybe he's talking to the kid he just saved. Judging from the way he treats villains as if they were good people, I wonder if he would feel bad about just thoughtlessly killing witches. Even though witches don't really have a conscious, maybe Wander would try to find a way to save the witch somehow. It would all be in vain since there is literally nothing in them but grief and hatred and you can't really reason with them through friendly negotiation or banjo playing. I'm pretty sure that Sylvia can convince him that he is actually HELPING them by destroying them, by freeing them from their despair. Then he wouldn't feel bad about it anymore and he would just see it as "taking them away from their pain" and it makes him happy knowing that he's doing good for the people around him AND the witches he's fighting. He smiles while he fights, too, because he's just so happy that he can help these poor creatures that he couldn't help before and he sees being a Paella Magi as such a good thing he's just so happy to be doing good on a whole other plane.

If he ever found out that his soul is now just a little gem, I don't think he would even mind. Now finding out that his inevitable fate is to turn into a witch on the other hand....
