Well, there is 12 elements of Magic, in which they compose the Element of Magic. They are:
Forest (grass)
Fire
Ice
Shadow
Light
Spirit
Water
Earth
Wind (air)
Soul
Electricity (lightning)
Aura (energy)
They are what the Element of Magic is.
But I think, after thinking, that Friendship should be the 13th.
They are all represented in an artifact form, and an "energy" form.

Also, the artifacts, I think, should be types of armour, or clothing. (IE: Twilight's cape and hoof-guards.)

These could be "half-elements". They represent somehow their respective elements, but they are not channeling their powers fully.
For example, the Crown of Magic is the material form and vessel for the element of Magic. A scepter of a wizard for magic spells, would be an half-element of Magic, as it doesn't channel the element of Magic at it's fullest.
I really like the idea you have. I will take a note.
As for the artifacts, I thought about doing either necklaces, medallions, pearls, gemstones, or crests. What do you think should be great?

That sounds really nice, but the use of jewlery as a magical item is unfourtionately a little cliche. Clothes and stuff aren't commonly used in stories; And besides, there's already the Elements of Harmony, there would be no need!

There's another thing too:
I thought about a sword, a blade which grant the bearer a total control on all the universes at will. I don't want to give spoilers, but I need to:
As I said before, there is a group of elements known as the Elements of the Universe. Basically, they are Time and Space, which bring Dimension, then Harmony and Chaos, which bring Order, and then there is Darkness and Brightness (though I plan on changing it for Lightness (or Light) or Pureness), which bring Justice. There is also the elements of Heroism and Life, making a reason on why you live, and how to improve it.
Dimension, Order, Justice. They create an orb of energy (not Aura related) when gathered, and is the Source of Universes, containing the bases of what a Universe should be. The other elements (Magic, Friendship, Heroism, Life,...) create a part of the sword, each of them. These parts of sword can only be founded in an alternate universe, in which it's supposed to be the reign of the Elements of the Universe.
There's a door, for each of them (the sword parts). When entering one, you are diving in the element it represents, going to its own source of power. Inside of this, there is a place in which the material form of the element needs to be placed (and this is why I wanted something like a pearl or a portable crest), to allow it to be fully charged of it.
After doing this for every doors, there is another door (again) located at the very center of the universe. On the area where the door is standing, receptacles for each artifacts of the Elements are displayed in a clock like form. Giant arrows, one for each elements, are turning at their own rhythm when their respective elements are placed.
And this is when the sword is starting to get formed. While the Clock of Time and Space is turning, the Elements start to let out their powers into the Orb of the Universe, placed at a gate in another universe, linking this universe to the other.
While facing Time and Space, so Dimension, there is Harmony and Chaos. As you know, the Elements of Harmony represents, well, Harmony. Gathering them will bring an immediate spread of Harmony power in the universe, though this isn't what is needed to do.
You need the Elements of Chaos (or Disharmony). And this is somewhat... difficult.
I can another set of elements to represent Chaos, but if I look in the Sonic universe... there is...
The Chaos Emeralds.
Maybe these 7 gemstones could represent Chaos! Though I don't know how it will be possible to gather them easily. Also, I need to find a name for each, which would take some time (unless you got something, which would be very appreciated (like always) 
Anyway...
When gathering the Elements of Chaos, a sudden burst of Chaos power will be unleashed in the whole universe. But you don't want that.
What is needed, is both Harmony and Chaos to coexist, bringing Order in the Universe. Nothing is too perfect or predictable, nothing is not enough perfect or predictable: it's in Order.
Then, here comes the beginning of the end of the story.
I think the main goal of the story is for the bearers to bring a complete Balance in the universes, and between the elements. I think the Darkness has broken this state of perfection, creating Evil everywhere. The fact that Darkness and Pureness (or Lightness (or Light (or Brightness))) needs to coexist to bring Justice, it's up to the bearers to "vanquish" Darkness, and solve the entire Balance problem.
But by doing so, Justice is created, and the 3 Elements of the Universe are present in the universe. At this point, they create their own orbs. Also, everything above needs to be done before the Clock of Time and Space has reached its "perfection" between the rhythm and the orientation of the arrows, or everything will be so unbalanced that the Elements would be spread all over the different universes again!
If it's correct, then the sword should be completed, and the Orb of the Universe fully charged, creating the Sword of Infinity.
But there is also another sword, the Sword of the Elements, that needs to be carried over to the parallel universe, absorbing in the way the infinite energy of each elements.
In the parallel universe, the Sword of the Elements needs to absorb all three orbs the Elements of the Universe created. By doing so, the Sword is complete, and can be merged with the Sword of Infinity to make the final sword, the Sword of Creation, or the Sword of the Beginning. With it, the bearer can do anything. Literally anything.
And there is the Door of Mystery.
With all the Elements gathered, the prophecy is fulfilled, and only the Key of Mystery is needed to open it. The reason why no one knows what is behind this door, the real reason, is because they have never founded the Key of Mystery.
No one knows how to have it. It's just said that only the Creator can bring it. But what is this supposed to mean? One thing is sure:

Man... you have ALOT going on! You can make a whole new franchise with this stuff! But yeah, I'm liking the sword Idea and the gathering of items, but how are you gonna do it? Are you gonna split the jobs between the 12 (or more/less) of them?
Also, will those doors(once opened and showing the path to said power) grant those who opened it a specific power?
You also gotta think of motives. What are the seperate parties' reasons for wanting the items? (i.e. personal gain, affecting the lives of others, changing a timeline of choice, advancement in own knowledge or experience etc.) Y'know, basic stuff to build character depht and all that stuff.
Plus, the whole Door of Mystery thing is pretty intriguing, and I'm guessing it has to be on-par with the Sword of Creation if only /it/ can open it, right?

What I think you should do is:
Fuse Spirit and Aura, since they're practically the same.
Replace one of those empty spaces with Metal, cause I made a char. based around it lol.
And make Shadow the 13th element, cause 13 is a bad number and stuff.

Well, I won't agree on the 13th element as to be Shadow because it's bad, for multiple reasons:
- I was born a 13th, was 13 years old a Friday 13th, and it is just superstition.
- Shadow isn't bad. The one representing badness is Darkness. The Shadow is just what is hidden from Light (we all see the light, but we forget easily to see the shadow sometimes, the other personality of someone).
Though I know it could be an interesting idea, I sadly don't see it like that.
Metal... I don't know... Maybe an element of Earth?
As for Spirit and Aura...:
- Spirit could be considered as the thinking of someone, the mind, the thoughts, telepathy, telekinesis, psy Magic.
- Aura could be considered as the fluctuation of energy of something or someone. For the living, it's the life force, the health, the energy to live. For objects, mechanisms, and magic, it's the energy to move, to work. Used like that, it can create a ton of spells like creating life bonds between two people, or even making force fields. Combined with another element, it can make things like telepathy, light rays, teleportation, time-traveling,... every existing spell.
In short, without Aura (or energy), the Elements can't be linked.

After second thought, I think Aura shouldn't be an element of Magic, but more a parallel element contributing in other elements...
And these 12 are for Magic. But there is the elements of Life, of Heroism, of Universe,...

Well first off, I'm really sorry about the 13th stuff lol I had no Idea.
Also I guess I was just thinking shadow isn't necessarily bad, more or less a taboo type of thing, like negative reprocusions on those who use it and those it's used on.
I see what you're grabbing at with the differences in Aura and Spirit, but I'm behind changing Aura into a type of Ki instead.
Oh yeah, and I gotta give you props, man! As a 13 year old, to have grammatical skills of your level, it's astonishing!
Most kids your age don't even know the difference between Your and You're, even people my age struggle with that!
