Ever since bri-chan posted that 1,000,000 page view thing, it feels like you can't go more than 2 seconds without seeing another one. I think it's great that 10000 or 5000 people have looked at your work. It means you have some talent, and deserve to be looked at. But I keep seeing people celebrating 250, 200, 100, and in one case, 30 page views! I really don't see what the big deal is! It feels to me like everyone is doing it to get attention, so I'm voicing my opinion. It may be rude, and I may seem like a bitch doing this. But to be honest, I don't care. I'm tired of it and I wish it would stop.Related content

I agree with you 100%. But it won't stop because this site has dweeby little kids on it that get a kick out of logging off and refreshing their page over and over and over until they get X amount of views.....there should be an age restriction.....nobody under 15.
ps: I don't think it's rude or bitchy of you to post this. it's your opinion, and this pageview thing IS a problem that DA should resolve.

Wow, someone who agrees! Thanks alot! There's actually a thing that prevents someone from refreshing over and over so that they have more page views. I see your point, though. I think there should be a 13 and up restriction, but you know people will find a way around that.

Actually the only thing that prevents the pageviews seems to be a person viewing their own page.
My friend made an account, logged out of it, and then just kept going to it without being logged in and he showed me like 600 pageviews in under a day.
But I think that the best solution for this whole thing is to have more control over what you can see on the site. I mean, it's simple coding to whip up something that could say....."block all deviations with 'page' + 'view(s)' or 'pageview(s)' in title".
And also......this site definitely needs a block user option, and should have like a categorical block.....like based on both age and also something similar to aim's warning system. Like if someone has been flagged by X number of people (who sign in from individual IP addresses)....you could select an option to block people automatically if they have flags from a certain number of people, lets say 5. And boom, it would eliminate alot of the problems and drama on this site. Or maybe not block, but just have a warning label show up next to their username when they leave comments and send notes. You know? Like an advisory to ignore them.
Heh, I've thought waaaay too much about this obviously.
