At first he wore it because he felt like it but Scourge hurt him at some point and now it's because he's actually blind in that eye.

Haha (about the whole he felt like wearing it) but it's sad about Scourge blinding him.
But here's my thing: if Patch was just wearing it for fun, then he'd be using his uncovered eye more, which is causing the other one to become lazy. Does he just wear it out in public and don't wear it in private, or did he somehow have supervision in that one eye?

I don't think the writers really cared about the realistic consequences of constantly keeping one eye covered. xD But you are of course totally right, in real life, that would do damage long-term.

I assumed so. I read it in a valchor. Cause if they did care about that kinda crap, they'd already have Antoine looking like he's been through hell because of where he's been, like a Metal Sonic explosion, since he's was legit wrestling a ticking time bomb. He at least flew 60 ft from the air, landed on the ground about 70 mph, bouncing, and miraculously missing his sword's blade from being a pin-cushion. He's have 3rd degree burns, broken bones, amnesia or brain dead. How is he only in a coma?

That was only when he wasn't wearing his patch, he has the scar on his right eye, which was always covered with his patch, which he had to remove to impersonate antoine...

I love Patch almost as much as I love his 'better self'. Sometimes I think that if he was real I'd be tempted to steal his eyepatch and run away with it. See how far I get before sudden death. XD
