Uhh... I imagine it in my head, look on the paper, and draw what I imagined.
By the way, Imagining the pose is the hardest part in making action drawings XD I almost think I'm running out of ideas T_T

You left out one crucial step you always make when drawing line art...it's not to be ashamed of, really...
I know it's: you imagine the pose on your head, then, YOU DO THE POSE YOURSELF (or parts of the pose to see feasibility, stability, realisticity-if there's such a word, and everything), look on the paper(a lot), and then finally draw...I know so... I've seen you draw...

As you have probably noticed in my favorites, if it's Zuko, I fave it. Although I really like the poses of your drawings. They look so full o life and not stagnant at all.
