My plea for the potato bug. I'm damn sick of people stomping these guys just because they don't meet their limited profile of beauty. They're a docile, intelligent, valuable, beautiful and noble species.Like other cricket species (the PB is also known as the Jerusalem Cricket), they use a distinctive call to attract a mate, except instead of using wings or other apparatus, they drum their heavy abdomen against the floor of their underground burrow with such force that it cascades through the soil.
