Description
1929, a Woman in Russia writes her daughter that everything will be alright, she'll find a way to get her back from the men who bought her. One by one, her purchasers begin to die, some more horribly then the others.
Years later, a similar killer dubbing himself Kira has arisen, promising righteous judgement on those who deserve it, until he himself met with a terrible fate.
But killings continue, and there is rumor of another Death Note in existence, or if not a Death Note, Near theorizes someone may just have a quantity of pages from it with them somewhere. But if so, where? And who are they?
And are they trying to save someone else's life by these deaths?

Here we have Ira Demenok, a grandchild of the fabled woman of old who was said to have the power of death in her hand. Is it true that she has inherited this power from her? Or is this a clever ruse of someone else yet again leading our new L in circles?

Basic synopsis: 5 years have passed since the death of Kira when strange murders start to happen across Japan, the same message is left at each crime scene: Kira Lives. In the wake of Lights death an organisation has risen with the holy mother and something reffered to as the Vessel at its centre, it is up to N to stop them before there are more victims.
How does that sound?

Hes 5 now and I've decided to call him Izaya as it means the one who looks over the crowd.
Its a bit of an odvious plot, however I think I could get in some really good characer development by forcing N to choose between saving he boy or destroying him before he becomes a threat

If she convinces him to have the shinigami eyes, it will be pointless to have him as Kira because he'll die when he's 10. So like i'm assuming, he'll be able to see over the crowd with the help of his mother yes?
Second, it's a very simple matter of destroying the mother, not the child, and Near is no stranger to being orphaned, there's really no drama needed as to whether a small boy should perish or not

I thought it halved the time you were supposed to live for if you got the shinigami eyes? example if you were going to live until you were 84 you would instead die at 42.
No worries there as I wasn't planning on him having the shinigami eyes.
I don't plan to make it easy for N to find out what the vessel is, also the organization is going to be huge with some really troublsome members.
Its not so simple as just destroying Misa, Izaya has been surrounded his entire life by people such as his mother telling him he was the son of a God mean't to bring judgement to the world, I plan to have him inherite Kira's intelligence. N will also have to consider even if the child is innocent there are people who would try to use him simply because of who his father was. So hopefully its not as simple as you were thinking

Oh it isn't by any merit a simple matter, just not that much of a dilemma. Honestly the whole scenario is brilliant.
If this kid were somewhat...terrifying in his zealousness, like the child from Looper...say will you actually have Izaya kill somebody? I mean with the Death Note.

I'm thinking of having him use it when he thinks hes in danger, but otherwise having Misa do it, so yes he will kill someone... I think, I haven't worked out all the details, I dont think I want to use Ryuk too much though.
I haven't watched loopers but I am planning for Izaya to have his creepy moments XD

To put it plainly, the kid in Looper is psychotic, and it's eerie.
It would be interesting if Misa, and those smarter then her involved, want him to come of age where he starts using the Death Note like his father, meaning being smart with it, knowing who should be sentenced to die, why? And so forth.
So , he's wathced mommy do it enough to a science to where they let him pick who mommy kills with it, so he HAS been killing people, only because he's been the point and click figuring out who should die and who shouldn't, like Mello did so he wouldn't have to risk his soul to do use it.
Now he's coming of age where he'll get to use the Death Note himself and although the other murders were his directive, he'll actually be killing someone, himself, for the first time.
Not to mention his soul will be damned to oblivion the moment he does, so you could have that incentive for them to keep him from using it.

I was thinking that the organisation would have him prove his worth, so hes not actually allowed to use he Death Note until he can show that he is his fathers son...I will have him telling Misa who to kill but at first I'm going to have Misa present it to him as a game, since he is only 5
Also I'm thinking along the lines of the first name he'll actually write in the Death Note is Near's, sort of he has to surpass the original Kira sort of scenario before he earns the right to inherite the Death Note.
I don't plan on Izaya risking his soul...but I was thinking of giving him the ability to see souls trapped in purgatory. Of course Misa and the rest wouldn't know about this, and it would be kind of cool to have Kira/Light whispering in his ear when hes talking to N

Of course you can ask, you're really helping hash out the details of the plot so thanks, anyway since Misa was Pregnant with Izaya at the time she had Shingami eyes and she spent so much time with Shinigami and the Death Note so it could be a side effect. Does that sound too far fetched?

Mmm I'd see so, in the senes that seeing life spans, and then seeing souls is kind of a leap.
If he could see peoples life spans or maybe see shinigami without having to have touched a note, or even seeing the dates when someone dies, that would be a bit more believable

To many shinigami can foul things up, and none at all can also detract, as both extremes were done in the show.
I think if you have a new one that we don't quite see or know the name of the entire time, it could work...especially if...hmmm

That's why I havne't posted any of my stuff, unfinished.
What i was going to suggest was, what if there's a Shinigami that the kid can see, and he's convinced (if you want to play with this existent conspiracy theory.) That it's his father, who's become a Shinigami, watching over him like an Angel. (phantom of the opera imagery there)
When in truth it's a Shinigami named _____ who realized the boy could see them, and has watched out for them sense , maybe because they want the boy protected, maybe because they know when Izaya dies and want to keep that from happening when it happens?
Izaya would see them as an imaginary friend, one who we as the reader, nor the characters know about till later, other than the boy talks with someone other then mommy when he thinks she's not looking.

Its weird how we think alike, seriously I swear I was just mulling over this concept after I replied to you...although I don't think the shinigami would really care if Izaya was going to die young at first, it be more like Ryuk hanging around the Kid because he thought it was interesting and then getting attached to Izaya because he doesn't think like normal humans. I just had a thought; it would be so creepy if this shinigami looked like a demonic plush rabbit or cat, then if Misa did see it she would just think it was a toy, any thoughts on this?

Eh, no...not to the being plush, i mean in terms of her mistaking a shinigami for something else. It isn't just cause you look un natural the deathnotes effect alerts you to a shinigami as a thing.
So if it like hid when she came around that would be fine, but if she saw it laying around with the toys she'd be like............"Wait.."

One that looks like a puppet sewn together with socks,
So a plushie in the vein of say...Donnie Darko , or some creepy goth shit could be in order.

They can walk through walls I don't think Kaslane (what I'm thinking of naming him) will have a problem hiding from Misa.
I'm also thinking Izaya and Kaslane would enjoy winding up N, for instance if Izaya were to send a page of the death note to N so he could see Kaslane. This wouldn't be for a while in the story

By the way, I'm thinking of revisiting / writing my death note story, and ....I'm wondering if I should incorporate Misa in it or not.
The idea involves her wanting to bear Light's child kind of like how Harley wanted to bear Joker's, and this one would be by insemination ...and I wanted to know if you'd feel weird or if that was to close to what you had in mind.
