Gerda Grünstein , born in the Kingdom of Atlas, but raised in Vale. Technological engineer and Surgeon, at Beacon to become a field medic/Hunter.

Horace Van Vermillion , of Mistral's Sanctom Academy, come to Beacon to become affluent in all the ways of Hunting to continue his houses legacy.

Undine Cleapatra , from Vacuo's desert land borders and it's fair hunting school; Shade Academy. A Treasure Hunting adventurer, come to learn the ways of Grimm hunting so as to better do her job as guide and tomb cracker for travelers along the wastes of Remnant.

Loden L. Chaney , A Wolf Faunus from the forest outlands of Vale. A former scavenger and grave robber, now a dedicated mortician and Huntsman with a vow to fulfill.

The Four met on an airship ride to Beacon that suffered a malfunction, and had to retire at a depot for repairs, right around the time a Grimm attacked. With conductor wounded, they were the first four to leap into action with a plan of what to do, ultimately slaying the Grimm.

Gerda tended to those with injuries from the initial crash, while Undine made the terrain fortifiable until they could properly receive help. Horace kept perimeter to alert the others if a Grimm was coming, by smell or hearing...which impressed Loden as Horace was not a Faunis like himself and was still unable to do so, meaning his senses and aura were THAT acute.

When the biggest Grimm came calling, a Mountain Goat looking Behemoth, all 4 took it down, ending in Loden blasting a hole through it when given a clear shot.

The four realized what they shared in common was that each of them had encountered Grimm before at a young age, surviving or braving an attack, now making something of their lives in return for being numbered among the lucky.

While still seemingly incompatible, they remained a unit while attending Beacon, and where made Team GHUL after their trials.
