Most people in my town are either from Norway or of Norwegian descent, and I make no exception. The reason you probbaly hear about it a lot is because it's one of the least corrupt countries in the world, jobs are available everywhere, the crime rates are low, the air is fresh and clean, and the people for the most part are very hospitable, most of them are really big, think of them as the Samoans of Europe.
Quite recently there've been a few terrorist attacks in Oslo (the nation's capital) and some guy with a machine gun mowed down a bunch of immigrants from the Middle East, and left only one survivor. That and Norway's known for it's natural beauty and landscapes...

Ask my buddy Sasquatch, that guy loves to fight! I'm scared of him, he's so hostile that making eye contact leads to you being chased down the street! XD I remember I was in a tree once; just chilling up there smoking a cigarette, avoiding him and enjoying the view.
