This is a pretty cool and iconic image!
As for Cybermen...they are my second favourite bad guys ever, after the Daleks. And Davros. And the true hero of Doctor Who... the Dalek Supreme! What a guy. But anyway, I like the new Cybermen from the torso up... their stupid hips look ridiculous though. Considering what a great job they did with the Dalek redesign, I was hoping for a little more, but what the hell. I bet they get Nicholas Briggs to do the bloody voices as well, rather than the *real* Cyber leader, David Banks.
My favourite Cybermen are still the Peter Davsion era ones....especially the ones in The Five Doctors and Earthshock.

They were cool, but I kinda liked the old T-shaped mouths better.
I think the ones in Invasion had the best faces. They were just so simple but very striking & scary, you know. The new ones have to have the coolest armour, though. I always thought the silver jumpsuits were kinda silly.

Geek Question: Which era of Cybermen do you prefer? The Hartnel/Trouten era where they were giants and only the Cyber Leader's could talk, or later when they started looking more like your icon.....and were deathly alergic to gold?
Now another question, have you heard any of the Big Finish Radio Dramas? If not you HAVE to hear Spare Parts!!!! It's about the Cybermen's humble beguinings....and IT IS AWSOME!!!!

I dunno. In terms of looks, I kinda like the later Cybermen, even though the gold thing is pretty stupid. I hear they're getting rid of it with the new ones. Those have gotta be the coolest yet, even though I'm not sure I really like the shape of their heads.
No, I haven't heard Spare Parts yet, but I hear it's great. I think Rise of the Cybermen is going to be sort of a remake of it, which is cool.

I like how they have redone the cybermen. Honestly I was kinda dreading it. Afraid it was going to be compleatly awful. I haven't seen any of the new show yet but a friend of my husband's in england absolutely loved it. The Sci Fi channel says they will start showing it in march before Battlestar Galactica on Fridays so that makes me happy.
