Description

This is a gem OC for TheZodiacLord 's AU!

Before you ask, yes, this gemsona was 1000% inspired by Terezi Pyrope from Homestuck XD

Gem: Pyrope Garnet
Name: Pyrope
Nicknames: (Fused) Piri (Unfused) Leftie, Rightie
Height: (Fused) same as Bloodstone I guess? (Unfused) a little higher than Pearl
Pronouns: She/Her They/Them (both can be used when they're fused, prefers she/her when unfused)
Age: 8690

Job: (on Homeworld) Pyropes were only made after the first rebellion. They usually were made to be judges, prosecutors, lawyers or even all three at once. However, they weren’t just any old attorneys. They were made with rogue gems, too dangerous to bring them to court, in mind. Their purpose was to hunt down any and all insubordinate gems and punish them on the spot appropriately to their crimes. However, since over the years the amount of rogue gems drastically decreased most of them became regular judges and etc. In the Homeworld hierarchy Pyropes are low-middle class nobles. (When in the rebellion) Since everyone on... whatever planet they're on... (Does it even have a name?) Is free of homeworld's tyranny and basically does whatever they please, that's also what Pyrope does. She still makes sure everyone follows the rules Moonstone and Sunstone make (if any... Srsly I need much more canon journals), but won't get physical if you still don't listen to her... usually.

Gem placement: (Fused) Both eyes (Unfused) guess

Personality: Pyrope's personality is made up of two other Pyrope's and while because of Homeworld designing them there aren't many differences between them the differences are still there, for that reason I'll be referring to the fusion Pyrope as Pyrope, Leftie for the unfused Pyrope with the gem on her left eye and Rightie for the Pyrope with her right eye as a gem.

Pyrope generally appears to be levelheaded and calm, but can also be very mischievous at times. She's incredibly courageous and adamant, making a very tough opponent to face. She's capable of working for very long periods of time without any rest without having to sacrifice quality of her work. She loves making awful puns while judging others and bringing justice to those who break the law or are just plain assholes. She also loves to "role-play" as an adventurer exploring unknown parts of the planet the rebels inhabit.

Leftie was a judge while on Homeworld. She was always a fair judge and never let any of her emotions cloud her reasoning while judging others. As all the other Pyropes she was very brave and never hesitated to shatter a gem because of their wrongdoings. She always followed orders given to her and was extremely strict about the rules of Homeworld. She hated untidiness and disorder, in her mind everything had a place where it belongs, and if it didn't have that place, it was garbage to be thrown out. Her picture would be next to the word "Killjoy" in the dictionary if it wasn't insulting to other Pyropes who look the same for the most part. She's a perfectionist and leaves no task unfinished. Surprisingly, she’s quite an animal lover.

Rightie was a prosecutor on Homeworld. She was much more laid back than Leftie. She loved toying with whatever gems she had trials with and seeing as they desperately loose any hope for not being shattered. She didn't see anything wrong with that since in her eyes anyone who didn’t follow the law was just pure scum and didn't deserve any better. She never understood why even try to break the rules as she thought law set by Homeworld perfectly mirrored her stance on everything. Despite being a guardian of the law and being perceived as intimidating and serious by other gems, she actually liked to party quite a lot in her spare time.

Hates:
- Unjust rulers
- Lack of autonomy
- Power imbalances
- Untidiness
Dislikes:
- People treating her like she's blind
- Not having the last word in an argument
- People getting away with breaking the law
- Darkness
Likes:
- Role-playing
- Pranking others
- Helping weaker gems
- Parting
Loves:
- Riding on her "Dragon" (Ref. coming soon... I guess)
- Intimidating unjust gems
- Delivering justice to those who deserve it
- Looking Badass with her weapon

Abilities: All the standard gem abilities; burning a mark into a gem (the gem gem, not their body made out of light) that allows them to know exactly where that gem is, it starts glowing with bright light when the Pyrope that made it is approaching the gem, only gems with strong healing powers, or the Pyrope that made it, can get rid of it; creating flames so hot they can shatter gems; extreme heat resistance

Gem weapons: (Leftie) a staff/cane (something like what Quartz has, except it can increase and decrease in length as needed), (Rightie) a lasso (or a noose, if you will), (together) that leash with a stick that's used on aggressive dogs to restrain them (I have no idea what that's called)

Stats:
Strength: Despite being made for fight with very dangerous rogue gems, Pyropes usually depend on their flames in fight, meaning they don't need as much physical strength. Pyrope's half as strong as a regular quartz soldier.
Stamina: Pyrope's stamina is incredibly high, since she was build for traveling in difficult terrain for long periods of time.
Agility: Pyrope's extremely agile which helped her avoid attacks coming from opponents stronger than her.
Intelligence: Pyropes are considerably smarter than typical gems since lifes were often depending on their choices, which meant they had to have additional training to become attorneys and etc. Also, they are super good at finding traces of other creatures which helps them greatly while hunting for their "prey".
Charisma: Pyropes with High charisma are usually made to be prosecutors or lawyers while the ones with less charisma are usually judges. This particular Pyrope's charisma is pretty average.

Backstory:
After the second rebellion broke out, the Diamonds completely flipped out, especially considering the two leaders were White Diamond's special bodyguards. That, as one could imagine caused an unimaginable uproar on Homeworld and caused them to mobilize lots of Pyropes to hunt down members of the rebellion that already made a name for themselves. The case was no different for Leftie and Rightie... well, with a little exception. They, unlike other Pyropes were meant to be sent after rebellion’s leaders, Moonstone & Sunstone. Since the Diamonds knew a task like that would be too much for a single Pyrope, they decided to send in a Pyrope fusion.
Leftie and Rightie didn't know each other before being assigned this task, which proved to be troublesome considering how strict Leftie was compared to her companion. Fusing with her was like putting a collar on her mind and Rightie just couldn't stand it. However, fearing how Diamonds may respond to that, she said nothing.
After being transported onto the planet where the main portion of the rebellion resided by a Homeworld ship their plan was to fuse and find one of the leaders as fast as possible to eliminate them separately. This however was easier said than done. After only three days of quietly infiltrating their planet Rightie could not stand being fused with Leftie and unfused in desperation. After that they had an argument about how Rightie is "irresponsible" and "makes Leftie ashamed to be the same gem as her". That escalated quickly into a fight. The fight took place at the foot of a mountain with many caves in it, near a forest. During the fight Rightie threw her companion to one of the caves with all her might and the impact of Leftie hitting the back wall of the cave made the unstable entrance cave in. After she realized what she had done, Rightie immediately tried to help her out, but it was for nothing. Stones that came off of the ceiling were way too heavy for even both of them, trying to pick them up from both sides and using their flames would probably only melt them together and make them even less movable. Angered Leftie told the other to go find a base of Homeworld gems and get someone to help. Rightie without hesitation ran into the forest, as the sun was nearing down.
In the dark of the night, she saw a bright fire, desperate for help she immediately decided to check if someone was there. The closer she got the louder were screams of joy and music, it was obvious whoever was there, was parting hard. When she finally got close enough to see the gems surrounding the camp fire, she was shocked to see they were none other than rebel gems. Conflicted, she stood there thinking what she should do. Suddenly a gem came from behind her and patted her on the back confidently "Hey! Why are you standing here like a stick in the mud? Party it up! We won this battle and now's time for joy!" it was some kind of well built quartz soldier. Confused Pyrope only nodded and when the gem left she looked at her diamond insignia. It all became clear to her, the symbol on her gowns going around her chest made it look like the diamond had a hole in it. She slowly looked up at the party before her and knew exactly what she had to do...
After parting all night with the rebels, Pyrope woke up with a slight case of "gem hangover". As it turned out, resisting such exotic joys as "eating" and "drinking" was way harder than expected. She was somewhat mad at herself for letting her guard down and ending up like this, especially considering who she was parting with. However, after a night like that, she'd be lying if she said she didn't grow attached to them in some kind of way. What a shame they all had to die. She couldn’t get the buzz from her head for quite a while and decided to pass time by chatting with a half awake gem next to her. She decided to ask about the rebellion hoping to find some clues on how to defeat Moonstone or Sunstone. The other gem found this quite weird since they thought Pyrope was a part of the rebellion but answered anyway, after all they weren’t in the best shape to think. They told her about how they're fighting for freedom and how Homeworld's totalitarian system is oppressing lower class gems. Rightie listened carefully, not really understanding what the other gem meant, but she didn't really feel like having a discussion about the morality of cross gem fusion and so she kept quiet. However, what really got to her was when the gem mentioned that Homeworld doesn't allow them to be whoever they want and do whatever they want. She wanted to object, saying how important rules are and that everything has to have its order, but got silent mid-sentence. That was when she realized everything that gem said was true. She was sent on a mission, endangering her life in more than one way, with a gem she knew nothing about but was supposed to cooperate only because their names were the same. It hit her like a train. Why wasn't that her decision? Why was she the one to risk her life for leaders she never even met? Up to this point she was the one deciding the fate of others, not the other way around, so she never realized how broken that system was, but now it felt like her whole life was a lie. She tried to somehow explain it to herself but only became more distraught as her thoughts went on.
The thing that snapped her out of that was the realization, she still haven't rescued her companion. She gathered some quartz soldiers and asked them for help, telling them she heard a gem trapped in a cave nearby, but didn’t give away any details. Once they were near the cave with Leftie in it, Rightie ran in front of the group to "calm the gem down" and got there before others did. Once she got there, after a solid scolding from Leftie, she told her she'll help her get out, but won't complete the mission with her. Confused, Leftie demanded an explanation. Rightie answered simply by "I can't follow someone who is followed by the likes of you". They couldn't talk much more since that's when the quartzes started coming.
After getting rescued, Rightie assumed Leftie would just leave and go back to Homeworld and report on her. She couldn’t have been more wrong. The other Pyrope was not about to give up on her mission because of a minor inconvenience, sure, she knew facing Sunstone and Moonstone alone would be a suicide, but she didn't lose hope for getting Rightie back on Homeworld's side. She followed her to the rebel camp and pretended to be one of them alongside Rightie. The other Pyrope had no intention in outing Leftie as long as she didn't cause too much trouble so she practically only hung out around her, hoping to change her mind. Sometimes Rightie would try to convince Leftie that the Diamond Authority really isn't that good but to no avail. Months passed and the timer on their mission was still ticking. Because of her whereabouts Leftie was unable to send reports to any of the Diamonds. To be fair after some time, she lost the will to do that, the more she observed the inner workings of the rebellion and the gems in it the more she was conflicted. She no longer saw them as rule breakers, but as members of society different to Homeworld and she felt her inner judge instinct saying "Not guilty" more than often. However she didn't let it show and still persisted in persuading Rightie to take up their mission once again.
That is, one fine morning, Rightie was finally done with Lefties’ BS and simply sneaked out by the break of dawn so she wouldn't bother her. Once Leftie realized the other Pyrope was nowhere in their base she decided to head outside. It wasn't too hard to find little bits of clues where Rightie went so she just followed that. However, the deeper she went into the forest the fewer and fewer traces were to be found until finally she came to a halt when meeting a mountain on her path. Since there was nothing for her to do at the base anyway she decided to go into the mountains and try her luck.
A full hour had passed before the monotone grey landscape hanged even a tiny bit. That's when she saw a mountain different than others. Its top was charred with black soot. Curious the Pyrope came to investigate. In the mountain was a cave, and in the cave was a moTHER FU- *ekhem* a dragon, or rather a creature similar to what humans would call a dragon. Despite living for thousands of years, she has never seen any organic life before. Leftie immediately became mesmerized by its shiny white scales. The beast was laying in the middle of the cave, presumably sleeping. Leftie approached the creature cautiously, but her steps echoed in the cave waking it up. Alarmed, the lizard immediately blew fire out of its mouth to obliterate the intruder. However, for the Pyrope it was no more than a few tickles. Once flames stopped spewing from its mouth the creature saw the gem was unharmed, a little surprised by this it didn't attack immediately after, since the gem didn't seem to be there to harm it.
After some time in the cave, they seemed to find a thread of common understanding. The creature was nothing of intelligent life but it was not as stupid as a normal animal. Suddenly, a loud noise from outside interrupted their bonding moment. Once they looked out of the cave, they saw three quartz soldiers in the valley bellow fighting with a gem of striking similarity to Rightie, probably because it was Rightie. Leftie stood there, looking as the fight unfolded. On one hand, she felt no need to intervene, after all that's what was coming to Rightie for becoming a part of the rebellion. On the other hand however, she knew that simply being a part of rebellion didn't make her guilty, and if the Homeworld was to win this war, they would most definitely destroy the home of the creature she just met. She looked at it, its red eyes filled with inexplicable understanding, but also sadness as it looked down upon the fight. That's when she knew what the right verdict was...
She slid down the hill and entered the battlefield. Startled gems stopped for a moment and looked at the Pyrope. Rightie was about to say something but Leftie interrupted "Just fuse with me if you want to live" and so they did. This fusion however was not like the previous ones; they were no longer separated by their views but connected by the desire to fight for what mattered to them. The fight was not easy, as Pyropes were med with 1 on 1 bouts in mind, but after a long struggle they managed to shatter all of the three gems (they didn't really consider it anything big, since they were previously sending other gems to death row and therefore were desensitized to the view of shattered gems, plus they had no way of puffing them without risking major injuries). After the fight they both figured it'll be better to not mention this to any of the other rebels. They also agreed to come back to the creature every so often since Leftie took such a liking to it. While they were coming back to their base, since they were no longer in conflict, they just kind of forgot to unfuse, and once someone pointed that out they decided to stay that way since together they're much stronger and can be more useful in large battles.
After some time, they also managed to tame the white dragon and called it Marble. One of the other rebels also made armor for it so Pyrope could ride it into battle, which was greatly appreciated.

(Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I'm sorry this story is SO bad, but I’m SO sleepy now, I'll fix it later, I promise)

Notes:
- I'm not sure if I made her too OP with the ability to create fire that shatters gems but I wanted to give them some sort of offensive option as both of their weapons are mostly for constraining gems before shattering them. Plus, Pyropes are very highly associated with fire.
- I'm also unsure about making her go directly after Sunstone and Moonstone, that's what made the most sense to me considering the purpose I gave Pyropes but if TheZodiacLord disagrees with it then I'll happily change that to someone like Ametrine or maybe Morganite, or even a "nameless" gem if that still conflicts with canon of this AU too much.
- Only while drawing this picture I realized Terezi's hair is also shaped like a libra sign.
- Sorry for all and any spelling errors, I made this as fast as I could so nobody else would make a Pyrope before me XP. Also, it's like 3 AM where I live, thank god it's weekend or else I'd be fu-

Well, considering Eyball's vision is not impaired in any way, I imagine that gem eyes work like normal eyes

:Y I like it too, but if it gets disproven by canon I'll probably change this OC to be a one Pyrope with the gem on her abdoment and come up with some sort of power to explain her all-red eyes
