I stood in front of the door, anxiously awaiting the day you would unlock it.That day has finally come and i gratefully take your hand in mine.
We turn, hand in hand towards an uncertain future.
Both scared, but finally able to face our fears.
...But our future ends quicker than it started...
I hold as tightly as i can to your hand but no matter what i do i feel you slipping.
I look around frantically, unsure of what to do, terrified at the thought of losing you.
One look at you and i realize what has to be done.
With tears in my eyes and love in my heart i slowly let you slip through my fingertips.
The strength of my love for you allows me to let you go...all i can do is step back and hope that someday you will return that love and come back to me.

im sure you are a wonderful writer. use your emotions towards your ex in your poetry, just let the peoms write themselves and u will feel a lot better when your done, believe me!

There isn't much I can say, because you've said almost all of it. I tried to tell myself like I did in the past, to not miss everyone as much and just move on... but then i realized, that was back in that room i had locked myself in for so long. And right here and now, I tell you this, I was once afraid to love you... im not scared anymore, so when I said goodbye, it doesn't mean its forever, so let your love grow in the garden of your soul, and one day, I will open the gate in your heart, and once more I will walk your gardens, and at long last be home.
