I never played any of the Megaman Zero games, I have watched walkthroughs and looked up some more background information, so I'm pretty much up to date.One thought always occurred to me though, instead of Zero the resistance guys found it was someone we never expect. Instead of awakening an old hero, they released an ancient prisoner and he was the only hope they had, Vile. When there are no heroes left in the world we can only turn to the wicked.

You know that does raise a question I've had now that I've thought about it especially his alt story in Maverick Hunter X.Β Just what is Vile's deal? I get that he hates X just because people thinks he's special and he's the first to say no he isn't. Who built him? Cossack? Cain? And when you think about it he is like another psycho robot with a grudge who has been purple before. Bass. What if Bass = Vile?

Now you might be over thinking it.
All if not most Reploids (including Vile) were created by Dr. Cain after discovering and inspired by X. But yeah Vile's particular nature and his grudge against X is fascinating.
(Also Bass was more black than purple, I know about his Treble upgrade but that could be just coincidence)
