I like to think that mermaids sing and seduce sailors, and then lure them down to be killed by the mermen.And then they all eat together at a fancy undersea dinner table.
This is the basis of my children's book

Lool hey, what can I say? I intend for my children to be mentally scarred from a young age. Honestly, though, you can't do any worse than French children's stories/songs. My favorite is about this little kitten whose master tells it not to touch the cheese he just made. But the kitten can't resist and eats it, so its master CUTS ITS PAWS OFF. D: D: D:

I think it's more badass if the lady kills the sailor herself, though.
Love the look of this- the colors are beautiful (I especially like the merfolks' color scheme) and your inking is so goddamn lovely, ahhh.

Thank you! : D This is true, I was debating this while drawing it actually! Maybe they should be more like lionesses, and the mermen can just be lazy all day ha ha. I like that idea too.
I'm actually considering taking this idea further and making more pieces, so I think I'll try and figure out their hunting dynamics maybe. I'm sorry I'm nerding lol xD;; GETTING BACK ON TRACK.

One misty morning, a lone mermaid was sitting on the dock by the ocean, sobbing. A brave but lonely sailor happened across the seamaiden, and asked her why she was not in the ocean where she belonged. With tears in her eyes, the mermaid replied
"Oh, how I would love to return to the sea, but I cannot. You see, the other mermaids mock me, for I do not kill humans like they do! They say that only murdering mermaid are beautiful!"
And she continued to cry. The sailor, very much touched by her sad story, knelt down beside her and said
"I think you're beautiful. For your personality."
And the mermaid looking upon him with shining eyes. The two lonely seagoers embraced, and the mermaid jumped off the dock with the gentle sailor in her arms, and then her husband killed him.
And they all ate him.
The moral of the story is: there is always a loophole.
Silliness aside, I love love love your lines. They are just so crazy dynamic and interesting!
