This is just awesome, gotta say, part of the sadness is that for certain characters it's getting worse. The song doesn't really hold true, troll after troll are dying now.

Er, that aside - I've seen your work before and I've always loved how you don't draw Trolls just like humans with add-ons. You really make them their own and I LOVE that. It was kind of shocking, when I first saw one of your pictures, but I've come to really like it. ^^ Bravo.

This is a really touching piece of art you've got here, especially with the music playing in the background.
It's sort of lost its impact now that the trolls have started killing each other, but I'd like to think that they had a moment like this in the beginning of their exile.

On the contrary, it seems to have even more impact now. Freeze them in this past moment when they're all still together and alive, and it's even more heartbreaking.

You see, though, Eridan had everyone's genocide planned from the beginning. This may have not been the idea situation, but he still wanted to kill everyone.
If anything, he's /more/ out of place than Gamzee. At least Gamzee actually liked everyone when he was a stoner.

I guess everyone's interpretation of Eridan is a little different. Personally, I see him as that kid that snaps one day and shoots up the school. He may hate people of a lower blood than him on principle, but he was still going to Karkat for his relationship issues, which says to me that he was starting to grow up a little. What crossed the line was Vriska using him and Sollux getting all over his Feferi.

Well, the thing is, he wants to commit genocide from the very beginning. Hussie leads us to believe that he doesn't really want to kill everybody and that he's just misunderstood, and then Eridan goes and destroys the Matriorb, effectively dooming their species. In a way, he might as well have committed genocide, because the trolls now have no way to reproduce.
I think that the entire point of it was that, no, Eridan is not a Jerk With a Heart of Gold, he was a Complete Monster the whole time. His neediness was more due to his lifelong Moirail rejecting him just as the game started, and less due to actually wanting friends out of them.
