Description
Character design of Deluna, the Goddess of Sex and Love. Goes along with the WIP "Unnamed Elven Pirate" character design [link] (don't ask). She is a half mortal/ half deity who has never before set foot in the mortal world and that can only die of a broken heart, suicide, or severe, untreated injuries. She is depicted in her traditional clothing (cross between a Greek chlamys and a Greek Doric stola). This is my first attempt at a complex background and cell shading. Crits and coms always appreciated!Line art inked with Microns on drawing paper.
Coloring done in Adobe PS Elements 1.0.

Ooo very nice. I like this piece. It's got a good colour scheme and a fitting backgroundHer right leg does look rather short though. I think the curve of her right hip needs to be raised a bit and maybe have the hint of a foot at the bottom.
Also I feel the sun is a bit, um... offish, because it is just behing her raised hand I think it either needs to be changed to be a ball of energy in her hand, or enlarged a bit. That's just my oppinion though ^_^

thankies for the comment! i don't get many of those ^_^ anyhow, the foot problem will eventually be fixed (emphasis on eventually ... i have a very busy life right now *nods and smiles*) ... and the "sun" is not the sun ... it is a ball of energy floating above her hand. if you take a look at the direction of the shadows and light on the background objects and her body, you'll notice the actual sun is low on the right hand side somewhere off the edge of the paper. *nods* i didn't realise how many people would mistake the ball of energy for the sun ... *shrugs* guess i should do something about that also! ^_^

YES!!! This is awesome...I have to fave this! the only peeve I have about this...is that the toga draping her ends on the ground with a straight horizontal line. I would have been a tad better if there was some collapsing folds where the fabric hit the ground. But all the goody-ness (the light at her hand, the pose, the terrific background, great composition, awseome use of color) makes me want to fave this!

i realize now that if i'm going to have the cloth fall straight her foot should be showing so it has a reason to fall straight ... and also to fix that annoying problem with the leg being to damn short ... i'll fix it and repost it ... eventually ^_^ thanks for the comment and fave! *hug*

the anatomy on the shoulders is really good on this. as are her arms. id say that the leg under the dress seems to be a bit shorter though, and it might be ocol to have it peeking out from the dress. but dont get me wring, its good work. shes very pretty.

Must say that out of all your work, this is what caught my eye the most. Great work on the coloring and pose, while her expression is also very minimalistic yet detailed.
Although the only REAL anatomical flaw thats bothering me the leg concealed under her drape...
The picture leads one to believe that shes standing at full height (perchance on tipietoes) on this pedistal, yet her other leg which outstretches away and is slightly bent seems longer... which then makes the leg propping up the body to short...
Other then that, I love it

you know, i thought so too, but when i measured it out, if her foot behind the skirt were lying flat, the measurements (of the thigh and calf) match... O_o;; *goes off to measure it again*

well, i did use a reference pic for the upper body (mainly for the arms) and that's how they looked. maybe i did draw them too wide or something *goes to look in mirror* and she is supposed to look like me, and i definately don't look "sultry" all the time - hence the "innocence" also notice she's a goddess of sex AND love - it's like she's in charge of the relationship between sex and love, not just sexual activities ... thanks for the comment!
