Description
Isis - goddess of fertility, womanhood and prosperity, health, healing and immortality.Isis was the daughter of Nut, wife of Osiris, and mother of Horus. She was sometimes called Eset. When Osiris was killed by Set, his body was set adrift in the Nile and Isis began her search for him. When she found him, Set learned of it and stole his body, chopped it into pieces, and threw it into the water again. Isis retrieved her husband and reassembled him. Isis was celebrated at one festival called The Lychnapsia, the Festival of Lights, on August 12, to commemorate seeking her spouse in the darkness by torchlight, and her processions resembled those of Bastet.

I really love this drawing. Excellent work!
But, your info on her is a little off. Isis was what the Greeks called her. Auset ( also Aset) is what the Egyptians called her, but it was pronounced as"ee-set" (a guess by Egyptologists). Auset was the matron of nature and magic.
Blessed be & may Auset bless you!

No problem! I've no degrees in the subject, but have had an intense love affair with her since I was a child. My first Social Studies project, that I remember, was on mummies.

Thank you. ^__^ I just excerpt the research as a summary from various pages I visited to do research on, I honestly don't know much about the egyptian gods. Thanks for the compliments though, and I did learn something new and interesting too.

One of my favourite goddesses! I had such an ancient Egypt fetish as a kid. Really effective light source in this one, and you got the art nouveau swirls down perfectly. She reminds me of how stately Theda Bara was when she played Cleopatra - at the turn between art nouveau and art deco. :')

oh thanks so much babe. D: the art noveau thing killed me, I've never done a design like that before. Thank goodness for illustrator to save me the headache of the symmetrical crab but damn that didn't make it any easier beyond it. 8( Thanks so much darling. <33 I tried to get the goddess essence thing down so I'm glad it succeeded in some way. rofl.

Well,I like her mainly because Isis
has all the virtues a woman should possess,
and she did everything to find parts of her husband Oziris, and bury him properly
after his brother Seth had killed him.
