You felt warm breath fanning over your face. You opened your eyes slowly, the sudden light blinding you temporarily. Your [eye color] hues made contact with the person’s steel grey ones. His sharp eyes were framed with thin arched eyebrows. Despite the closeness, you didn’t feel uncomfortable at all but you still felt a blush crept to your face. This good-looking man who you’ve never seen before was staring at you intently.

You were the first one to break eye contact, clearing your throat rather loudly. You inclined your head to the left. Your eyes staring at the window, finding the trees showered with sunlight very interesting. You felt the man pull back, his weight shifting on the bed. He was sitting on your bed.

‘I’m on a bed? How did I get here?’ you thought. You sat up slowly, eyeing the environment surrounding you. ‘Place doesn’t look familiar.’

“How was your head?” The guy reached up to touch your head. When his pale fingers grazed the edge of your forehead, you flinched, feeling a slight pain. His calm demeanor immediately replaced with worry, his lips turned down into a small frown.“Tch.”

Was he concerned? Why was this stranger so concerned about you?

“W..who are you?” You whispered almost inaudibly, looking down at your hands folded neatly in your lap.

You thought he hadn’t heard you so you began to ask the same question again, only to be cut off this time.

“I heard you perfectly the first time, woman. Are you fucking joking with me?” He snapped, his eyes glaring daggers at you.

You almost jumped out of surprise. He was sweet one moment and now he’s raising his voice at you. You bowed your head down, your thumb and index finger pinching just above the bridge of your nose to relieve the throbbing pain. Noticing your discomfort, he sighed heavily. You felt him pull you towards him gently, as to not cause you any further pain. Your head rested on his shoulder as he gently stroked your hair.

You were just beginning to enjoy the ministrations when he pushed you back slightly, making you look up at him. “I’m going to call shitty glasses. Stay here.”

You nodded, not able to say “no” when you saw the softness back on his eyes. You didn't even know who this shitty-glasses-person is. Your eyes followed him as he walked to the door. You managed to get a good look at the guy. He was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and pants with brown knee-high boots. He also had those weird buckled straps attached to him. ‘Probably for his 3DMG. Wait how did I know that?’

When he opened the door, an auburn-haired girl wearing glasses was standing behind it. Her hand was in the air as if she was supposed to knock. She beamed at the sight of you and waved. You were able to give her a small smile and a curt nod before the black-haired man pushed her away from the door. They obviously didn’t go far because you could hear them talking just outside.

“Levi. How was she?” the girl said, her voice laced with anticipation.

Oh so his name is Levi.

“She seems fine.” He grunted.

“You don’t look happy.”

“I always look like this.”

“No. When we talk about [Name], your face lightens up a bit.”

“Tch”
“So~? Did you break up or something?”

You blushed upon hearing those. ‘Break-up? Levi and I?’

“The damn woman asked me who I am.”

“Huh? What?!”

The door opened. The bespectacled girl came marching towards you and stooped to your eye level “[Name], you do know who I am, right?”

Unsure of what to say, you remembered what ‘Levi’ told you before. “Uhm.. You’re shitty glasses?”

The moment you said that, ‘Levi’ smirked and you could’ve sworn you saw tears forming in the woman’s eyes. She hugged you tightly and wailed. “Nooooooooo. My poor [Name] can’t remember me.”

“Give her some fucking rest, shitty glasses.” ‘Levi’ emphasized the name clearly enjoying that you called her shitty glasses, too as he pried the girl away from you.

“B..b..but shortyyyy” she continued to whine while ‘Levi’ was still dragging her out of the room. He slammed the door shut, locking it behind him.

He sat on the bed again and ran his fingers through his hair.

“You should probably rest, [Name].” He pushed you back on the bed, one hand on your shoulder, the other on your back supporting your fall. “Your name is [Name]. Do you remember?”

You nodded, afraid that you would stutter when you speak. His lips pulled up into a tiny smile, so tiny that you weren’t sure if it really happened or you were just imagining things. He covered your eyes with his hand, forcing you to shut them tight. “Now sleep, woman.”

The pain in your head slowly dissipated and you let yourself immerse into the world of dreams. (Maybe you just needed sleep afterall?)

Levi kind of regretted having you redo all the cleaning in his room. You slipped on a stool while dusting a cabinet, making you fall on the floor head first. He kissed the top of your head, careful not to wake you up, as he watched your peaceful slumber.

Hoping your memories will come back the moment you wake up.

A constant beeping sound was heard. Your eyes shot open. There were electrodes attached to your head. When you tried to remove them, a hand gripped yours. You looked up to see a familiar face. You smiled at the man.“Dr. Jeager.”

The man smiled back at you, wrinkles forming at the edges of his eyes. “Welcome back, [Name]. How was your trip?”

You tilted your head to the side, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

Dr. Jaegar sat in the chair beside you, a clipboard in his hand. “How was the parallel universe?”
