Description Allison did not take long getting ready.  She had chosen red, a power color.   She generally didn’t believe in those things, but today she could feel how it made her feel as she looked in the mirror.   It gave her a lot of confidence.

Then she grinned just a bit.

And I look pretty good too.

Yep, she was confident for sure.

She grabbed a weighted bar to help her get loose, and to get her warmup going.  She wasn’t long into getting loose when they descended on her.

Vikki. Stephanie. Raye.  And even Carla hobbled her way in, still hurting from her match but loosening up as the time went by.  She plopped herself on a nearby bench as the others closed in on Allison.

“We aren’t letting you go out there alone” Stephanie said, not beating around the bush.

“No way.” Vikki added. “They’ve proven less than trustworthy and there is too much on the line.”

“You’ve been there for us, its time we step up for you.” Raye added.

Allison was touched.  These girls continued to impress her with their loyalty.  She looked from one to the other, eye to eye.  She could see their determination not to send her to the wolves.
“This means a lot girls but I assure you it isn’t necessary…..”

“It doesn’t matter what you say,” Vikki interrupted her “we are going.”

Allison held up a hand.

“I know there is little I can say to make you change your minds, but hear me out.  I know my sister, better than you believe.  She has a lot of hubris in case you’ve forgotten.  She’s the World Champ.  Unbeaten.  Invincible.   Im her little sister.   She is certain she’s going to win.  I can see it in her eyes.  There is no chance she’s going to want this sullied by anything.  She wants a clean win.  Nothing to make this disputed.  She wants a to win this building and at the same time humiliate me.   Her girls Im sure have the message to stay out of it.  So Im asking that you to just hang out in here.   If it goes bad, the ring isn’t that far away.  I know you will be watching and I know you’ll be there.”

She said it with such resolve and laid it out in such a way it was hard to argue.  All of them started to argue but none of them had a suitable argument.

“Ally are you sure about this?” It was Carla throwing out one last volley.

“I have absolutely no doubt.  Think of all she’s done just with these matches.   She wants this badly and she wants to do it herself.  Her girls wont be there.  Its me and her.   And Im going to ruin her plans.”

“Alright, girl.  If this is how you want it then fine.” Vikki said

“It is…”

“But we are close by if needed.”

“I know you are, and it’s why I love you all.”

Vikkie makes a solid point. Don't trust them.

I love Allison's confidence!

I mean, she pretty much has to put on a confident front for the benefit of the other girls and all, but I believe that she truly thinks she can emerge victorious in this showdown with Katie ... and she SHOULD think that way, because she has all of the tools and all of the talent necessary to emerge on top once the dust settles.

That is my completely unbiased opinion.

... okay, maybe a little biased.  But also very true!

Just a little biased?

She believes in herself and knows that others believe in her too.   That gives her plenty of confidence.   Plus there is everything that is riding on this... it's all extra motivated.  And we know what a motivated Allison can accomplish!

So… Straw poll – Allison’s confidence… Is it justified or is this Allison trying to convince herself?

I think half and half, myself. Sure, I doubt Allison ever went into a fight doubting she’d win but, at the same time, she has to know this will be a hard match. It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be personal and there’s no way she isn’t at least a little nervous even if she won’t admit it.

Even if, deep down, I think this is how she wanted it all along. Just her and Katie, not having to rely on anyone but herself.

I also have to wonder if she knows Katie as well as she thinks, if only because I’m sure Katie would take a dirty win over a clean loss. There’s also the question of whether all Katie’s girls would listen to her. Janie, for example, might be ‘independent’ enough to think it’s a good idea to step in regardless.

At the same time, I think it’s a smart choice not to have the JSG girls there at first. That would look like Allison was afraid which would be a bad idea, I think.

On the other hand, it might not be far but it can be a long way if something does go wrong.

I think I’d have taken one or two with me, maybe Vikki and Stephanie. Enough to keep things civil but not so many it looks like you’re scared. I imagine rendering all those characters played a part here but I can’t help but feel that Allison is betting very heavily on something that may or may not be the case.

With everything resting on this fight, I feel that she ought to have someone there just in case. Added to which, having all her girls walk her out (even if they didn’t stay out) would be a formidable show of support.

Hey ho. We’ll see. It’s a great image as always though, even if I find myself looking more at Steph than the lead character of this storyline…

From the bottom first.   After Allison, Stephanie was the first character in the image.   I knew it would be meaningful to see her there and I knew she had a fanbase, with the president of that club situated in Great Britain!   Figured you'd get a smile out of that one.

I really like reading what other people think about images.   It's interesting for me to see where other people would go with the same story.   I think its what's fun about posting here.   What I see is different than what you see.  Kind of a 'why didn't I think of that?' sort of thing.   One or two making the walk out would have sent a very clear message.  That was a good take.  Something I'll learn from in future stories I think.

Don't forget, way back at the beginning (an eternity ago now... I wish I had time to have done this whole thing in a couple of week, not  a year or more!) Allison watched Katie demolish a wrestler on TV.  She is aware of Katie's skills and her willingness to do what is necessary.   I was hoping it was built in enough by now!    Im wondering at this point if maybe her NOT having been in the ring for so long on a larger stage wont work to her advantage.  She very likely knows far more about Katie than Katie knows about her.

As always thanks for the comment.  I like your takes on what I put out there.

Why, thank you, sir! That's much appreciated - Stephanie's presence in an image certainly always draws my eye. I mean, there's that pesky Vikki trying to steal her spotlight but I know the Submission Technician is just waiting for an excuse to reclaim her rightful spot at the head of the JSG! No, seriously, much appreciated.

Well, I think it's very likely that Allison is better aware of Katie's skill set than vice versa. And I also think it's likely that Allison cares more about her opponent's capabilities than Katie does - part of me thinks that, even if the opportunity was there, Katie would have shrugged it off as unnecessary - she seems very dismissive of Allison.

That said... There's a benefit to your opponent not knowing what tricks you bring to the table certainly. On the flipside, that also means that Allison hasn't had the exposure to the variety of top-tier competition that Katie has or the experience of fighting under pressure. I'm not sure that one really helps either side here, because it's a double edged sword at best.

Or, to put it another way, it's a potential advantage but could also work against her. I think this is going to depend on what Allison makes of it.

Thanks for the reply!

They’ve proven less than trustworthy...

Who doesn't love a nice euphemistic turn of phrase?

I don't have much to add to this.  I like the way the women turned out to support Ally... physically, if need be.  Little moments like this can add up to be just as important as grand gestures as far as relationship building goes.

Also... I see you saved the most tremendous outfit for your star character.

I wanted to show a little bit of unity here.  Allison had earned the right to know she wasn't alone.   I didn't want it implied, I wanted it seen.   Mission accomplished.

And the outfit... yeah, Allison kills this one for sure.
