The two of them went to work determining the seedings top to bottom. #1 through #22. Diane deferred to Allison on most calls based on her actual knowledge of the comings and goings of the girls. Diane did, however, try her best to be Devil’s Advocate whenever she could.   Challenge who belonged where and why it might play out that way. If nothing else it hammered home the actual seeds and removed any real doubt Allison might have.

The two of them finally settled on the order and how the bracket was going to look and moved to the gym to post it.   From here on out it was final and now Diane was completely in charge of all decisions and had the final say on any disputes. There was one last reassurance, however

“You are sure this is what you want to put up? There is still time to change things…”

Allison cut her off.

“This is it. I have no doubt this is what we are doing. Right or wrong.”

“You are going to make a few girls happy, but you are going to make some mad and you are going to get a lot of questions.   Are you ready for that?”

“I am for sure.   If they have issues … well now I have a Commissioner for them to go through!” Allison chuckled.

“Look mom, I know what this is going to do, but it’s going to be fine. I’ll explain it as needed. Let’s have some fun.”

“If these girls are as good as you say, this could be very interesting indeed.”

“They are.” Allison said proudly.

The walked past the cage, the ring and the heavy bags.

“By the way, is that her?” Diane said, seeing the girl on the bag

“Yep.”

“Think she’s here to start something?”

“Im not sure, but if she was I’d have guessed she’d have done it by now.   She has been a model customer. No trouble, respectful of me the few times we’ve talked, even congratulated Stephanie again.   I don’t know that she’s some sort of spy but she’s worked hard when here and treated everyone just fine. We will see.”

“Let’s keep an eye on her just the same when the matches start.”

“Of course.”

Then the list was on the wall for all to see.
