Description

Hello, humans! This is a small plot episode from the third arc, describing how the planet goes into its original state. This is how the world on the surface looks like in the final arc of this story. "Reverse Deformation" precedes "Dirge for Shardopolis" arc, and takes place even before DD arrives in the city.

The characters in this episode are DD and that alcoholic from the ark, who would have tried to kill each other if not for the surrounding circumstances. However, they will have the opportunity to do so later.

The surviving citizens of the underground city of Shardopolis were divided into two warring camps, with their own rules and regulations. Some were able to adapt to a new life, but not all. Whether fed up with constant feuding with each other or simply renegades expelled from both factions, these people have all decided to return to the surface to try and rebuild their lives there. There was no shortage of resources, there were enough supplies in the abandoned cities, the main problem was the aggressive machines of the old humanity, black sand and the enraged Engine of Immortality.

This planet is permeated with the mechanisms of ancient humans, created for the functioning of the ecosystem and a comfortable climate. The system of devices could recreate dead animals and plants, restore the landscape after natural disasters, thus maintaining a balance in the biosphere. This is what the locals colloquially called the Engine of Immortality. For millions of years of the absence of the old humanity, many system errors have accumulated in the algorithms of the Engine, as a result of which the awakened machine began to “repair” the planet according to its distorted instructions. You can see the consequences of this “repair” before you, the deformation waves rolling over the earth turned the planet into something crazy.

Blight from a harmless natural phenomenon turned into a disaster - the Engine copied and deformed any matter that it could get to.

The path of my characters ran through one of the cities of Church, covered with waves of deformation. Surrounded by Blight on all sides, their path lay only forward, and Prophet is the only one who can lead them out of here...
