Preview for 's Neon Slaike. I swear when i drew neon and kazuo i must have been subconsciously picturing them in a fight because i realized that when i finished em the poses were pretty similar, lol.Related content

Is he throwing something, with the object being in the front? I'm very curious.
As for the pose, I feel like that it's stiff, or not animated enough. Some captures you can actually visualize the motions, you get a feel for the actions. Maybe more curve in the weight of the character (like his footing or the arch of his spine). I think the object could be a little larger as far as perspective goes. And if not the object being bigger, then the figure could be a bit smaller, allowing more traveling of the viewer's eyes. Some shift in the ears (or one of them) to show motion and force. It'll definitely help.

yeah he's throwing that thing in the front. and now that you mention it, he does look a bit stiff, his arm and his spine. maybe i should use a model or find more references before starting to draw a pose. and yeah a bit more exaggeration on either the character or the object would make it pop out more. and yeah the ears, i should have seen that. wow, that's actually quite a bit. next time, i'm going to try and keep all these in mind. thanks, i really appreciate it.

he does look a bit stiff, his arm and his spine. maybe i should use a model or find more references before starting to draw a pose. One way to pull off a more animated pose is to be more gestural, and not so tight. Looking up model references, or doing a pose yourself, is not bad at all. Adding gesture to the pose will provide more opportunities and direction for your pose. To practice that, just scribble on your page, but with fast and loose marks. Make the lines light too, not so dark and tight. Use more of your wrist , a little elbow action...practice this daily, learning to draw faster, it'll really help your poses.
yeah the ears, i should have seen that. One thing to definitely do is to step away from your drawing. Never ever was told this until my teacher told me for the first time when I took his class. By stepping back from what you're drawing every five minutes, it'll give you more direction and options. Whether to edit or keep going, or to stop and reflect...see what is being a problem, or what is helping the composition.
So definitely, add more gesture to your drawings, and keep a sharp eye on what you're doing. By stepping back every once and a while.
And you're welcome bro.

Nice perspective here... not to mention the detail in the fur and pants. Can't wait to see the rest!
