Reminds me that steampunk and cheesecake can go together. Nice drawing. RICK

I truly believe that if there is one place where anything can work with everything is in the "realm" of creativity.

I enjoy your work. Obviously, large breasted Β women are fun to look at and draw but your drawing carries an immediacy, a life in line work that is hard to pull off. It is authentic. An artist could wish for nothing more. RICK

Wow, thank you very much! That's a huge compliment!
I know it may sound as an excuse to turn something perceived as "low-level" into an artistic need,
but behind those unrealistic curves I draw there is what I like to call "geometrical pleasure":Β
the structures, the context these structures are used, the gesture of drawing them...it's hard
to explain (especially without sounding like a lunatic)!

You do not sound like a lunatic. The female form is beautiful in all shapes, colors, and sizes. This is not about sex. The forms, curves, hard edges all invite the eye. Exaggeration in art is pretty much a universally accepted means of defining, focusing, or realigning perceptions. If your work was 100% raunchy for the sake of being raunchy, in my opinion it would not hold too much interest beyond a "goggle" or two. Yet, there are some drawings you make that are extraordinarily subtle, natural, and reveal a great deal about the women as real characters. Not all drawings are "successful" but enough of them are. I encourage you to keep drawing whatever you feel inclined to draw and to do it as well as you can while exploring whatever artistic directions turn in your head. This particular variation on a theme seems crude at first. Big breasts. Ha. But to be honest there there something more you want to say with it. I enjoy you efforts. Keep posting and growing as an artist. RICKΒ

I understand that some of my drawings are too "raw" (not talking about technique - always a work in progress - but in terms of purpose) for the US and UK audience, but I came from a tradition of comics that does that a lot, playing with the extremes, the anti-sublime, the Obscene to say - maybe not much but a little of truth about something. It's the italian way of Underground Comix, and I humbly (try to) follow that path.Β

Coming from the States I am only tangentially familiar with Italian comic book art. I own a few beautiful Milo Manara graphic novels. I collect Japanese stuff like Akira. The American superhero stuff (the GOOD stuff). There is always Moebius who was a genius of course. The raw, not totally polished aspect does not bother me at all. I like the vitality aspect a lot. As far as my opinion of what "hits" or "misses," it is just a personal indication of what gels. If all the elements come together: the main idea; the drawing; the details; the energy; the design, then your art really stands out AND is also sexy. Do you take commissions? I am not a wealthy person but might like to get a custom drawing in your style. Maybe a trade or a Paypal thing. I would not insult you by requesting a free sketch. Just something to think about and tuck away. I am super busy right now in real life and just finished an expensive holiday so funds are low here. Thanks for listening and please keep posting your work. When I have time, I will write back. Good work needs to be encouraged. RICK

I totally get what you meant, don't worry!
For instance, I'm not a great fan of Manara, except for his "Giuseppe Bergman" series and "Click" (the first episode).Β
Yes, I take commissions (only digital at this point, though).
Thank YOU for the chat! Your comments are always a great pleasure to read and food for thougth!Β
