Anyone else notice all these art improvement and draw this again memes where the two pictures are nothing alike? Save maybe basic concepts like gender or species?The best ones are the ones where the before picture is clearly an incomplete low effort sketch from the oldest recesses of one's gallery, remade with almost no semblance to the original.
In honour of this time honoured tradition, I present you, OGRE REDONE
(Just for reference, I'm not actually mad about this concept, just poking fun at some of the recent ones I've seen.)

I feel like I should do this, I can compare 2 of my pictures with a drastic change of style, and to also say something about your example, the amount of details are incredible compared to the first one, but both look great
Edit: I feel like an idiot for not realizing the joke that the first one is just a sketch, I guess I my mind was turned off while looking at this the first time, so in honor of my stupidity, I'll highlight the word I used to describe how a finished picture has a lot more details than a sketch

I mean it's better than the ones I've seen where the before and after are practically the SAME drawing.
Like no improvements, no changes, the artstyle and character are still very much the same, the after drawing seems more like a trace of the before, and the artist doesn't even put effort into it.
Otherwise nice drawings! Both look really good tbh

Haha, I seen a few on google when I was looking for the template. They're pretty bad, but at least they're actually drawing it again. The "draw it again" where they just draw a different picture are way more common for me, like, they lose the whole theme. (The improvement one I just saw on the front page was "Cat girl playing video game to Regular Pinup Girl in a squat position)

Tried to actually redo the same picture, since I feel like the point is to show a 1:1 comparison of improvement. I think that's why there's so many "OLD ONE WAS BETTER!" comments on this meme, because people don't see the improvement as easily when it's a whole different picture.

If it's like an original character and you've changed how they looked throughout that time, I feel like that could possibly be an exception but yeah, it would help to see that improvement if you keep things like the pose, the whole "feel" of it and even the colors if it's a colored piece.
If the before is like a messy sketch, it would only make sense to do another messy sketch too, otherwise yeah definitely agree!
Kinda puts me the mood to do an improvement thing now haha

Yeah for sure, I'd definitely count that as a successful use of the meme, but a lot of the time it's just another character entirely.
You should definitely do one, to balance out all the bad ones(Like this one, for instance.)
