Ability mastery branches into two paths, either increasing the height and distance the oruk is able to close, improving mobility, OR increasing the damage of collisions and the knockback and power of the shockwave.
Bio: Oruks are a hardy and physically impressive slave race that dwells within the Orcish ruled fire mountains. Their immense strength and endurance lends them well to menial labour, their generally solitary and stoic nature keeps them from forming a community enough to demand better treatment. Compared to their orcish overlords, they breed slower, lack the heightened predatory senses, and are generally heavy handed and footed, lacking in grace and coordination. Though they share no love for the orcs, they generally stick to their assigned tasks to avoid conflict. They spend their days toiling in the mines and erecting buildings, more prestigious ventures lie in the athletic arena, the long jump is the racial pride of the Oruks, which only the strongest and most well trained compete at, other less popular sports that oruks take part in are the: Rock smash, Grapple, and stone lift. In the Eastfort, Oruks often compete in the bloodsport arena, taking the roles of ruthless gladiators. When wartime approaches, many of the arena champions are conscripted. Other respected oruks are used as guardsmen for the citadel in fire mountain.
In combat, the oruks take the role of the tank, leaping into battle before the main force and taking the brunt of the blows, their powerful limbs and great strength give them control over combat, allowing them to knock down, throw, and incapacitate enemies with ease. They are able to easily fight multiple targets at once, usually long enough for the orc raiders to kill the distracted soldiers. Their powerful stature and sturdy build makes them almost impossible to knock down, with Oruk Juggernauts able to easily smash through crowds without getting downed. Although extremely durable, the oruks can and will use their powerful jump to escape the front lines if need be, granted they haven't already exhausted their strength using it to engage.
When it comes to magic, Oruk mages are amongst the most rare, with one never having been actually seen. As a result of their magical weakness, they are especially susceptible to hostile spells, being unable to resist all but those spells in line with their natural elemental affinity,(Fire/Earth) and even that resistance is minor.
History:
The Oruks share a history with the orcs, a closely related species that are believed to share a common ancestor, though neither group would accept that as truth. The oruks lived along the mountainous regions of their shared mountain home, further west and higher north than the orcs who lived within the basin. Their territory stretched into the edge of the dark pines and the elven forest, and among the non-volcanic rocky regions. Many conflicts between the two species arose as the orcs expanded their industry, resulting in countless battles. The orcs dominance of the Oruks came to be when the orcish infrastructure allowed them to route the lava from the flowing magma lakes into the forests below, burning out the oruk expansion and causing them to disperse. The dispersed groups were hunted with the Orc's trained wargs as well as overwhelmed by their superior numbers. The Oruks held out atop the western mountains, the stragglers standing with them to repel the orcish attacks, but the quick breeding orcs and their enslaved beasts eventually began to overwhelm them. Unable to hold out on the mountain any longer the Oruks were forced to surrender. To their surprise, they were met with unexpected mercy, though many were killed by the orcs, their new overlords had different plans then genocide. It became quickly apparent to the oruks that the orcs were after the stones and minerals that the Oruks had been using in their crafts and weapons. They forced the newly enslaved Oruks to mine their previous home of various materials. Primarily Ruby, garnet, and red stone, which would later be used to make the Orc's red steel weapons.
The oruk's knowledge of smithing was learned by the orcs, until no more new Oruk smiths remained, leaving the oruks with only their superior physicality to make them useful to their masters. They mined and built and toiled for the orcs for generations, the Orc's great city being primarily constructed of their labour. During the Orc's first attempt at conquering the west, Oruks were used as the forward shock troopers for the orcish army. The oruk bolstered army was able to capture the elven settlements along the eastern coast, and the newly created eastfort became home to many Oruk warriors when the war ended. During the end of the war the Oruks were mostly replaced by the newly enslaved minotaurs, who were considered to be superior at leading charges to their oruk counterparts. although still used in various battles, the oruks were considered more valuable as labourers and guards back at Fire Mountain.
After the war, the orcs that weren't dispersed amongst the west returned home, bringing what Oruks remained with them. Despite their losses, they suffered little in terms of structural damage, meaning the loss affected the Oruks little, even benefiting them in that the lowered orcish population and fractured government as a result of the loss of their warlord gave them more freedom. With many of their masters having been killed in the war, some Oruks who had remained settled in their abandoned homes. This was a short lived positive as the loss filled the orcs with bloodlust, their fervor causing them to enact brutal forced breeding policies and increase mining and expansion. During this time some Oruks were used as assistants to the smith,(Though most mined and laboured) reawakening their racial affinity for the craft, if only slightly. The Orcish population had eventually regained it's losses and then some, booming massively as it hadn't before, during this time the raids and skirmishes were kept to a minimum as the orcs prepared, with only splinter groups really launching any real attacks. With a population stable enough to support it, orcish industry and territory grew. Eventually, as society and culture progressed, gifted Oruks found new ways to earn the respect of those above them. By competing in the orc's athletic arena, many oruks earned the favour of powerful orcs, and some were even seen as equals. The best of which went as far as to serve the emperor in the citadel.
In eastfort, a grand bloodsport arena had become the center of the region, the Oruks were often the combatants and champions in the arena, excelling in close combat over the other races. Though never becoming as prestigious as the imperial guards at the citadel, many did earn high living conditions by their blood and sweat in the arena. Though at the cost of the scars of oftentimes being pitted against their own kin.
Many Oruks who had never returned to the Orcish capital traveled East after the war, to the neutral Goblin cove. Though some remained free, working as mercenaries, others were tricked or enslaved into servitude by the City goblins within the cove. Enslaved, or "Contracted" oruks served roles as dock workers and crate carriers, as well as bodyguards, many were also sold to orcs from eastfort who were looking for prize combatants. This became so profitable that many a goblin profiteer would breed "Oruk Bulls" to be used in the arena in underground "ranches" in warehouses and dungeons beneath their establishments. Very few Oruks were ever freed by their mercenary counterparts, who either couldn't afford the higher priced females, or had no interest in their fellow males. Small attempts at uprising were usually quelled by loyal or collared slaves and the business continues to remain lucrative.
As time passed, Many orcs within Fire Mountain began to doubt that a second conquest would ever be mounted against the west, some blamed their current emperor and considered him weak for his stagnancy. This led to the forming of extremist groups who sought to overthrow the current leadership. Attacks were staged, burnings, slaughters, and rapes with targets usually being family or allies of those within power. Many of the attacks resulted in the deaths of the emperor's kin. During one such attack, the remaining family members of the emperor were targeted, the attack resulted in the death of the emperor's favored wife and his first son, who perished counter-attacking the terrorist group. His youngest son, helpless to the attackers, would have been slaughtered had it not been for one of the patrolling citadel guards hearing the commotion and managing to eradicate the entire attacking hostile force. This Oruk guard was honored and named Emperor's hand, the highest honour any Oruk had ever received. The youngest son, already more open and equal minded than most orcs in the citadel, encouraged his father to consider the Oruk's plight and push for better treatment of their slaves and labourers. The success of the Oruk in defending the Emperor led to many oruks serving as guards for both high ranking officials and commoners. Though never the dominant work for the Oruks, Oruk guards nevertheless became almost as prevalent as Oruk miners.
During this time the emperor's son, along with his father's high ranking generals and some chosen elites of his own, launched a large campaign to retake eastfort after it had been captured by aug invaders from across the sea. The campaign being launched was met with praise by the Orc majority, with Oruk juggernauts leading the charge, and after a long siege, eastfort was eventually taken, cementing the oruk's usefulness to the Orcs even further. From this point, the Son of the emperor became new warlord of Eastfort, opting to stay there with the generals and use it as a staging point for any campaigns to come.
Finally, in Fire mountain, as society progressed, but the war effort stagnated, were the complaints of the emperor's detractors validated. A massive force from the west marched on Eastfort, but before the extremists could react, a different uprising had begun from beneath. Within the Emperor's chambers, the Emperor's hand and renowned Oruk hero, strangled the emperor to death with the binds from his previous servitude, decapitating him with the chains and holding his head above the balcony of the citadel for all to see. As this was happening, the Oruk palace guards killed their fellow guardsman, and then blocked the door of the citadel, making it impossible for reinforcements to execute the emperor's slayer. From the balcony, the oruk rallied the slaves, guards, and miners below, urging them to turn on their orc masters, citing the fact that the largest military force was occupied with eastfort. Orcish guards and soldiers clamoured at the citadel's monumental gates, and then, like an earthquake, the Oruks, from labourers to guardsmen, began their uprising. Thunderous stomping erupted throughout fire mountain as the Oruks crushed their masters and flanked the guards attacking the citadel. Finally the gates opened, and the newly crowned and former Oruk hero stepped out, tossing the emperor's broken body onto the crowd, and with the palace guards at his side, rushed into the fray. The fighting was fast and brutal, with both sides taking heavy losses, but a much worse toll on the orcish side, at the end of the bloodshed the citadel remained under Oruk control. Eventually the Orcs signed a treaty with the oruks, in order to spare themselves from destruction, and knowing that the force from Westwall would turn it's sight to Fire mountain once the prince's defenses fell, they reluctantly accepted a standstill. The Oruks reigned supreme over the citadel, the former hero sitting upon the emperor's throne with the mutilated bodies of those who lived within the citadel strewn across the palace's great halls.

Lol. if I ever redraw these references(Which are terribly out of date and not representative of my current skill level, so it is likely that I will) they will probably be more anatomically correct.

Indeed, let's just hope they can manage their occupation..
Thanks, I appreciate that someone is reading them . I would call it lore, yeah, it's mostly a result of campaigns/RPs that shape the history.
Definitely, I can write backstories for most every race. But my gallery is art first, writing/lore second, so I only write for finished work, as opposed to sketches and whatnot.
With every finished reference there'll likely be a new backstory/bio/stat sheet for whatever race or character I've drawn.
