Description
The "little bumblebee" tutorial is FINALLY finished!!! Again, credit goes to for the design of the bumblebee.I really apologize for how long it took to put this together, but personally I blame school >< And homework!
+ You can download the pattern here: [link]
Megaupload Mirror: [link]
{Please let me know if these stop working!}
It looks really big, but when you print it out, it should be just right.
Notes about the tutorial:
+ The bee I photographed for the tutorial is smaller than the one that you'll be making if you use the pattern (full size). It's about half the size, but the steps are exactly the same! (I was just lazy with the sewing).
+ If you're wondering why for the ribbon-installation part, the back stripe has already been sewn on...I forgot about the ribbon and had to go back and do it XD
+ The main stitches I used were the overcast stitch ([link] ) and the blanket stitch ([link] ). If I didn't say which to use, it's most likely the overcast.
+ There are many ways you can do the mouth, it'd probably be more secure if you embroidered it, or used little stitches, but I wanted a more rounded shape, so I "cheated" a little XD
+ I kind of rushed the steps for the eyes and the mouth, so if you have any questions, please let me know!!
+ Sorry for the inconsistent colours and the different backgrounds - I was working all over the house.
Good luck and please show me if you make a little bumblebee of your very own!
---------
O___O
I just want to extend a huge, heartfelt THANKS to `feetpeet and `bleedsopretty for the DD!! I'm totally shocked and overwhelmed - and thanks to everybody who faved and left comments for me since yesterday, it's going to take me ages to go through everything!!

It's so cute! And the pictures are very clear, so who cares if the lighting is different? I can see you put a lot of work into this tutorial. It's very neat and well made.
I probably won't make one; I'm way too lazy, but it was very interesting to see how it works!

I will! But I've so envious. The stitching of your lovely creations are so evenly and nicely done. Mine, on the other hand, look like it was ripped apart by cats first.

LOL, I'm sure that's not true! My stitches aren't even or neat at all, so I try to hide the stitching with other parts of the bee ^^

LOL! XD do u hand stitch those accesories or sewing machine? cuz hand stitching takes forever
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
onifrogbox In reply to aiwa-9 [2007-09-28 03:39:10 +0000 UTC]
No way do I hand stitch, it'd be so messy (cuz my stitches are ugly hehe) I used my sewing machine for the ID holders and the cellphone straps. The only things made by hand in my gallery are the clown and the bee XD

aiwa-9 In reply to onifrogbox [2007-09-28 03:46:54 +0000 UTC]
oh, maybe i should use sewing machine for those big accessories too...too much work @@
I can't wait till xmas XD
i've made hair ties, wallets, coin purse and pins using fake leather and plastic material before, but not felt~

onifrogbox In reply to aiwa-9 [2007-09-28 04:09:36 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, a sewing machine makes neat looking stitches and totally saves on time...unless, of course, you screw up and have to take it apart ¬__¬
You made a wallet without a sewing machine?? Wow, you're so good O_O Where do you get fake leather from? I want to make a leather jacket for my little felt doll XD

haha, those fake leathers u can't get, unless u go to those manufacture places or fabric store or home depot? i got mine in china from my uncle's frd since he sells those materials, so i just grab some scraps from him, but i don't have any here i'll have to go back and bring some bak XD

haha, well i love to show u, but unfortunately i made those in china and we already sold them and we supposedly took pics but that person deleted all of them from his camera and he even sold them for $5 RMB each!!! me and my cousin got really mad........but he eventually paid back my cousin...but that was last summer....so no pics T_T and i really like some of them too...

oh sorry doll to bother you like this, but i've just printed it out and my printers doooowacky and comes up with all sorts of weird but wonderful shapes and sizes, seriously!
was just wondering, if it would be a hassle or not eek! what the measurements (in CM) of all the shapes if you could please tell me? if not no bother!
because it keeps cuttin off on the right so i might get the totally wrong measurements..
ty! <3

Hmmm...I'm not sure why it's so funky! The dimensions of the file should be 16.28 cm x 17.81 cm. I hope that helps ! >< If not I can try uploading the file somewhere else.

Oh WOW!
I definitely am going to give this a try - my fashion assignment is to create a bag (i'm making a tote) and include a little gift of your choice. absolutely YOUR CHOICE.
i'm gushing! how adorable is this tutorial?! I would've thought it would be long and tedious and hard to do but it looks so simple the way you've explained it - how fantastic!
I've never made plushie type things before, or anything of the like, and I will try and attempt make one, haha! (: thankyou ♥
