Description
Alien race concept for a short animation project. I intended to go for a different kind of humanoid, something more weird that wourl imply a different evolutionary path than ours. I use the mantis head as an inspiration, to portray a kind of insectoid - reptil hybrid, with a non differentiated mouth systemRelated content

I rarely like people's drawings of aliens, as they tend to either look like barely modified earth creatures or impractical blobs of nonsensical details. These heads actually manage to look truly alien while still retaining a sense of personality and practicality. I tip my imaginary hat to you.

Just looking at the portraits and trying to discern what animals they resemble, I totally thought of 'mantis' for the lower right-hand corner alien. Very cool! c:
